Dubai is a very cosmopolitan place and modern too. I am used to seeing even the smallest grocery or shops here with scanners in their check out counters. I have never seen a cordless nor bluetooth barcode scanner yet in my vicinity. However, the bigger shops and malls use the high-tech bluetooth scanner in their check out tills. These modern check-out equipment like touch screen cash registers and barcode scanners really make paying easier and faster. Back in the 70's and 80's when cash registers used to be very big and noisy with every punch on the keypads. The technology these days have made shopping a virtually fast and easy experience.
