Securing A Bail Bond

If you are arrested, you may need to acquire a bail bond. The amount of bail will depend on the crime in which you are charged. By paying a bond, the court is assured that you will appear for your court case. In some circumstances, the bail may be more than you can afford. If this is the case, you may need to locate a bail bondsman to secure your release.

Before you get a bail bond, you must learn the type that is available to you. In most cases, there are three types of bail bonds. These include property, surety, and cash. A cash bond is either paid with a money order or cash. With a property bond, the value of the property you own is used as collateral. A surety bond is a loan. As a defendant, you will pay the bondsman a percentage of the bail.

For most people, the surety bond is the most used. Once you have chosen the type you will be using, contact the jail and find out how much bond is needed. In most cases, the bail amount will be 10 percent. Now that you have your bail amount, locate a reputable bondsman. You can get Denver bail bonds here. Before your bail is paid, you will be required to pay the bondsman their required fee.
