Remembering Vegas

It has been more than a year since we visited Las Vegas and we sort of miss the place. For one, The Strip - as Las Vegas is fondly called is vibrant, full of lights and entertainment. We enjoyed the city scape at night with all the neon lights calling out everyone's attention.

What my husband and I missed to do was watch some fancy entertainment show the time we visited. We could not live our daughter alone in the hotel. We checked out nice shows that time and thought it would be fun to see what other people were raving about. All the glitters, fancy shoes, the ladies with their sexy adult costumes and full make-up and the part of the show with the choreography, lights and sounds to accompany the movements were the stuff we missed to see. Maybe next time...

Living in Las Vegas

I have been mulling on the thought of migrating to the US. Although it has always been my dream to visit my relatives there since I was young, I never actually thought that my husband and I would really like it there. Not to mention my daughter too!

We have visited Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas but the latter has a certain lure that is hard to resist. It's not the flashy neon lights nor the captivating signs of the casinos along the strip that enticed us there. The price of the real estate Las Vegas are lesser compared to Los Angeles.

Apart from that revelation is the fact that my Uncle and his wife moved from San Francisco to Nevada some years ago because of the lower property rates. Moreover, the lower tax rate is also one of the plus factors. He made good use of his well-earned retirement money by purchasing a nice suburban home near the Las Vegas strip. We were glad to be able to see his abode and the neighboring village as well. The timing could not be any better too because of the recession, Las Vegas foreclosures real estates are quite high and what was once an expensive piece of property is now being sold at a very low price. My husband and I suddenly had our "light-bulb" moment and checked Summerlin foreclosures for some nice properties. We even joked that if we ever win in the casinos, we'll definitely purchase a property there.

Viva Las Vegas!

The long, arduous drive to Las Vegas, Nevada was too much for our tushies. Hahahaha. I feel bad for our cousin who drove from San Diego all the way to Vegas without getting any help from any of us. We could pitch in for him but ever gracious that he is, he took charge without bothering us. It was roughly 6 hours drive because we had to stop for food at Barstow.

The weather in Las Vegas was great. They said it gets very humid and hot there too during summer but we were lucky enough to enjoy our vacation with the cold weather of winter's past.

We passed by snow capped mountains which left us in awe. They were beautiful sights to behold! I have never seen anything like that before. Wow!

We arrived in Las Vegas around 3:00 p.m. and was just in time for our check in at Excalibur Hotel. The hotel was so huge with several towers for accommodation. We were billeted at Tower 1 and was not overlooking the main strip.

The hotel is located in the beginning of the strip and has connection to the Las Vegas Monorail. We drove around during the afternoon to enjoy the view during the day. At night, we set out on foot to watch the famous dancing fountains at Bellagio Hotel and to see the famous strip at night. The lights around us were truly captivating!

I played the slot just once on the last day of our stay there. Well, I did not win because if I had, I wouldn't be back here...hahaha. My darling won around $170 on the tables. Lucky him! Instant pocket money eh....

Hope you'll have fun watching the slides in the fabulous Las Vegas!
