Safety Rules To Observe To Avoid Pool Accidents

Swimming is a great way to cool down during summer. However, swimming is not always by the nice white sandy beaches.  It can be in private pools or normal swimming resorts.  Through all the fun activities and excitement in swimming, injuries and pool accidents are bound to happen if you are not careful.

An overused universal rule but often times neglected and disregarded by many is the swimming pool's safety rules and lifeguards' verbal orders. A little bit of listening will not harm you. It might even help you later on. They are there for a reason so you should heed. Here are the things to remember to avoid getting injured in the pool area.

Play it safe
You will never know who might be in the pool especially the deeper ones. Some swimmers may be submerged, so check around first before taking a dip. Always walk around the pool by at least a meter away.

Take swimming lessons
Familiarize your children or younger siblings by having them take swimming lessons at a local pool. Knowing how to swim and the techniques of proper breathing while swimming can give you the advantage to swim away from harm.

Supervise children
Supervise children carefully. Do not let them out of your sight. They may wander far and slip in the deep end of the pool.

Learn CPR and have a first aid kit ready
Always have emergency numbers and first aid kit nearby.

Use common sense and do not swim in the deep end of the pool
Avoid swimming in the deeper ends if you are not a professional swimmer or just starting to learn. Do not even swim alone. Don't even begin to test yourself if you know you don't have the lungs and stamina for it. Just don't.

Use flotations, inflatable tubes or floaters
Use inflatable tube or arm floaters if you do not know how to swim but would like to keep up with the other swimmers. There is nothing wrong with wearing floating devices to aid you in swimming and these floating devices are not meant for kids only. Have children swim with floats or make them use inflatable tubes.

These are but a few things to keep in mind when you go swimming by the pool to prevent injuries. The thing that will matter most in the end is for you to simply play it safe and know your limitations. You can read more information on safety rules to observe to avoid pool accidents in the internet. Plenty of resources are available for you to take note of.

Swimming in Garbage

Yes, people can swim in garbage - not the actual soiled things we throw but in a garbage dumpster. Who would have thought that a dumpster can be used as a pool? Well, Macro Sea is an innovative company who created the first dumpster pool last year. Now, they have set 3 more dumpster pools around the Park Avenue areas in New York to allow residents to take a dip.

The 8 x 22 foot dumpster pools are just 3 - 4 1/2 feet so diving is prohibited. The inside walls have been lined with layers of felt and pool linings. The pools have their own filtration system and deck and can easily be transported to other cities who will take in the innovative design of David Belt.

Residents in the Park Avenue areas are trying the unique experience. The city has given bracelets to residents on a first-come, first-serve basis to try out the dumpster pool. The pools will be around for 2 Saturdays (August 14 and 21) before the pools are moved.

So, if you live in the area, you may want to shake off the summer heat and take a nice dip in the dumpster and swim in garbage (dumpster pool that is!) with style!

Relocating to Arizona

Oh no. Not us...yet! Although we have plans to migrate somewhere it does not rain often and the weather is almost similar to Dubai. We are so accustomed to the weather here that a 49 degrees Celsius temperature has already been accepted by our system.

Well, Phoenix, Arizona's weather is not too different from Dubai. They also get warm and humid summers and not very cool winters. If we ever want to move to a cooler climate, then we can always drive to nearby cooler states like Utah, Colorado or California where most of our relatives are residing.

One thing we are considering before we take the big leap is the location of the new place we will call home and the amenities. Phoenix, Arizona is not that far from California so we can always visit our relatives should we finally decide on the biggest life-changing move we will embark on in the future. I hope it is not a distant future!

I have discussed the need for a backyard and probably a small pool to wade in when it gets hot. to my husband. We have to scout for a great deal on real estate and Arizona swimming pool service to maintain our swimming pool. However, we can narrow down our search to Phoenix swimming pool service if we are going to live in that city. There are plenty of pool cleaning and maintaining service in the area so I suppose it will not be a hassle to choose one that is superb in service; also upon the recommendation of friends who are already living in Phoenix. Blue Palm Pools is located in Anthem and I think this pool service and repair company will do the work!
