Get Custom Sportswear

When I was young, I used to engage in numerous school and community sports events, specifically volleyball and badminton. I wasn't just a geek. I was also into sports.

As part of any sports team, our group should look, feel and of course, dress the part. We needed jerseys or sports uniform to support and showcase our school and community in any sports competition.  During my time,  we had to request sponsorship from small business, generous individuals to cover the overall cost of the uniforms, food, and other incidental charges.

Sports uniform today is a departure from my generation. There are plenty of styles, colours, and designs to choose from nowadays. During my time, you actually have to go to the tailor shop and you can either bring your own design or pattern or choose from the ones that they already have and submit for customisation. This generation has better options. You can still go to the tailor or buy online which will save you time and effort.

If you decide to go online for your sportswear, you can scour the internet for numerous resources. One that stands out is LogoSportswear. It is a leading online sports outfitter and has been in the business for the last 20 years.

You can decide to choose LogoSportswear Polos for the coach and LogoSportswear Custom Jerseys for the players. Your sports uniform will definitely standout!

How to Throw the Ultimate Super Bowl Party

The Super Bowl is the perfect excuse to throw the kind of no-fuss, no-muss party that’s just plain fun, which is why Michael J. Knapp and his wife Amber host one every year.

There’s no need for table settings or good china. You don’t need index cards with topic lists in case the conversation lags because all the entertainment’s provided. You can also skip slaving over the stove to create a culinary masterpiece. At a football-themed party, the gooier, messier, and cheesier the food, the better. It’s a chance to throw out the rulebook and build a seven-layer dip that defies imagination. And it’s your chance to can hang out with like-minded football fanatics who not only don’t care that you shout at your TV—they’ll shout out with you.

That said, Super Bowl parties are still parties, so they do require a little planning. Here are some tips on how to throw a party that will have everyone hoping for an invite every year.

Overestimate your guest count: In most cases, you can count on at least a 20 percent no-show for parties. But the Super Bowl is different: this is the kind of party where the guest list is fluid, and someone almost always shows up saying “Hey, you don’t mind that I brought a couple of friends, right?”

Have extra food and drinks on hand: Even taking extra guests into account, remember that the Super Bowl is at least a four-hour deal, with no set “sit down” meal time. You need to have enough for everyone to snack on for the duration. One option that works well, according to Michael J. Knapp, is to keep the chips and dip, pretzels and peanuts coming continuously, and then bring out a different specialty item like wings, sandwiches or tacos every hour or so, setting some aside for seconds.

Do as much as you can beforehand: Prep the veggies and cheese platters the day before, and precook everything possible the morning of the game. Make your primary goal having fun with your guests and seeing as much of the game as possible.

Decorate: You don’t have to go all Martha Stewart here. Even something as simple as napkins and plastic cutlery in team colors can make things more festive. If you’re feeling inspired, add a few novelties, such as a football-shaped ice cream cake, a football piñata or some foam fingers. Of course, if going over the top is your thing, break out the face paint and jerseys and go to town.

Plan out your space wisely: Clear out as much extraneous furniture as you can so that people have space to move around. Set up tables near the TV so people don’t have to leave the room to grab a quick bite. Also, keep a cooler stocked with beer and soda near the seating area so that it’s in easy reach of your guests.

Provide some fun: Offer your guests foam bricks to throw at the TV. Find out everyone’s predictions for the game, and take friendly bets or award a fun prize to the one who comes the closest.

4 of Asia’s Weirdest Sports

Each country around the world has their own weird sport that they can call their own. Finland has wife carrying, Wales has bog snorkelling and Canadians have unicycle hockey. But when it comes to downright bizarre, it’s safe to assume that Asian countries take the cake. While we can’t name them all, here’s four of the oddest sports in Asia.

Elephant Polo

Forget horses, they were so last century. These days it’s all about Elephants. It’s not really any different from the original polo, it’s just bigger and a little bit slower. However, the skill level of the riders will astound you. There are two riders to each Elephant, one to steer and the other to hit the ball. The length of the field is only three quarters of a standard polo field, which as you can imagine, can get very crowded. Introduced into India by the British aristocracy, Elephant Polo has expanded to Australia, Germany, Britain, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and is especially popular in Thailand and Nepal. There is even a World Elephant Polo Association (WEPA) and an annual world championship to boot. WEPA enforces strict rules on the welfare of Elephants and runs a large conservation and awareness program.

Sepak Takraw

Sepak Takraw makes the list purely because of the sheer level of athletic ability required to play. In a nutshell, a Sepak Takraw players combines soccer, volleyball and gymnastics into one game. How is this even possible? Well, the Takraw ball is about the size of a large softball and is usually made of cane or hard plastic stems. There are three players to each team who stand on opposing sides of the net which resembles the volleyball aspect. Throughout the game, they use their feet, shoulders or head to hit the ball to the opposite side. The fun part – at no time can your hands or arms touch the ball. Essentially, these skilled players are often seeing flipping backwards and forwards, jumping up to incredible heights and moving their bodies in ways that make your cartwheel look like amateur hour.

Bataoshi

Do you remember playing capture the flag as a child? Well imagine that, but with a towering pole and 150 of your best chums. Awesome, right? Played by cadets at the National Defence Academy of Japan and traditionally on its anniversary, two teams of 75 launch themselves physically and in any way possible to vie for control of a single five metre pole. The victorious team is the one who successfully lowers the pole to a 30 degree angle. What sounds like a fairly simple game, actually requires a lot of athletic skill.

Indoor Cycling Gymnastics

When researching this article, I argued whether this was an actual sport. But after watching many cycling gymnastic videos on YouTube, this sport was too fabulous to ignore. In Korea, competitors don full body leotards, and battle to win the title of who can burn calories with the most style. Featuring choreographed moves, participants shimmy, do tricks, dance seductively and shake their heads more times than you can count. Overall it’s the enthusiasm of the contestants that make it so entertaining to watch.

Are your bags packed? Organised your Facebook/Instagram/Skype data on the TravelSIm website to upload all of those hilarious moments you need to share with disbelieving friends and family? Awesome. You’re ready to go! But before you do, answer us this, what’s your favourite sport that’s considered a bit weird? Tell us in the comments below.

Top Fun Ways To Keep Teens Entertained Over The Summer Holidays

www.riablahgs.com Top Fun Ways To Keep Teens Entertained Over The Summer Holidays
Many teenagers seem to spend most of their free time either playing video games or complaining about being bored, so how can you keep them occupied and engaged this summer?

E-readers
If you’re heading off on a long road trip this summer, then backseat boredom will hit your teens pretty fast. With an e-reader, they can take all of their favourite books with them without having to worry about heavy bags. Although it might look like yet another gadget, remember that they could just as easily be reading Shakespeare in preparation for their A-levels instead of Twilight again - in theory, at least!

Volunteering
If your child has a hobby or favourite sport they're losing interest in, try persuading them to help out as a teacher or coach for younger children. Not only is it valuable for university applications and future CVs, it's also a great way to re-engage with something they used to love. They could volunteer in a library, help out as a football coach or even work with animals. Most clubs will be more than happy to let them help out, just remember to invest in some new Kickers shoes and boots if they're going to be on their feet for a long time!

National Citizen Service
Organised by the government, this scheme lets teenagers take part in things like horse-riding and dry-slope skiing as well as learning the importance of teamwork. Programmes are usually 3 weeks long and are for 16 and 17 year olds only. They usually include some residential time away from home and around 30 hours of volunteering at community projects: perfect for building independence and confidence.

Let them plan a trip

Hand over some of the responsibility for your holiday to the children to give them a sense of ownership, as well as an idea of the organisation involved! Whether it's a day trip or your choice of hotel, chances are your teen will complain less if they've had an input into the decision making process. Let them help with everything from booking travel to stocking up on holiday essentials. Just keep an eye on the shopping cart to make sure they stick to the budget!

Golfing in Germany

Everybody I know who plays golf say it is an easy game because you hit this ball with a metallic club and wish it will land in the putt or it becomes a "lost ball."

My hubby is an amateur golfer. He golfs for leisure and not for sports. At times, he would be with his other friends who share the same passion as his to play golf in nice courses in our area. Sometimes, they visit neighboring towns to check out their golf courses. He has not tried golfing in Europe yet, more so in Germany since lugging all those heavy golf clubs would mean extra expense for our part when we travel. However, whenever we travel, he checks out prices of golf clubs and other golfing accessories there and see the price difference.

We are thrilled to chance upon a site about golf courses in Germany. Although the language used is German, it is still helpful to find Golf shop with all the list of the best online golf shops in Germany. It also has menu for golf courses there which one might try out while having a vacation in Germany, be it a business or a leisure trip. This list of online golf shops in Germany is very usable when you want to check out the nearest golf shop from where you are currently staying.

We were in Germany few months back and have found the country very conducive to golfing especially when the weather is permissible like spring and the early summer. We tried out the mini-golf range in the Olympia Park in Munich and found it quite interesting and exciting considering my handicap. My daughter loved it too and would like to play more if only she had her own golf club! It was certainly fun.

With the sprawling greens, I can just imagine the excitement of a golfer to be able to play in these well-maintained golf courses.

Cashing In On Sports And Fitness

The sports and fitness business are becoming the "in" thing these days with plenty of people engaging in sports activities and fitness regimen. And these enthusiasts are willing to pay for their accessories to complement the sports and fitness program. Big gyms and other fitness centers are cashing on their programs for weight loss, muscle toning and body building as more and more people are opting for the healthier lifestyle. Aside from the usual programs offered, there are memberships and other miscellaneous fees to cover. Some fitness centers even provide their own signature drinks with special containers coming from the best custom water bottles in the country, healthy food, clothing line and bags and equipment.

Fitness centers, gyms and other sports facilities are actually thriving despite the economic crunch because there are still a big market out there. As long as people are opting to life a healthy lifestyle and engage in sports activities while patronizing their favorite hobby and team, then sports and fitness is a good business to venture to.

Pacquiao's Defeat

We thought Manny Pacquiao would hold the World Boxing Welter Weight title for a long time. However, like any wins, there are losses. And this major fight was the one that put a stop on Manny's winning streak.

I am not very adept with the technicalities of boxing but just by looking at the statistics of Manny's punches against Timothy Bradley, it was very obvious who won the fight. The judges didn't think so and granted the victory to Bradley who also felt that he had won the fight.

Pacquiao graciously accepted his defeat but was surprised by the verdict. So, there may be a rematch. And if Pacquiao will win that match, then it is pretty obvious that the verdict was biased. Most of the people  thought that Pacquiao is still the rightful owner of the WBW belt anyway. Only Timothy Bradley thinks otherwise.

Next time Manny...next time.

My Karate's a Bust

Remember my conviction to do karate despite of my age and health issues? Well, 1 month later, I still don’t know the steps. I’m still getting very dizzy with the movements and my very young karatekas are already in yellow belt while I still cannot master the fundamental steps – not one! And this is without any exaggeration.

So, much as to my family and friends’ dismay (including mine), I am withdrawing from the class. I don’t feel any regrets joining because it made me more flexible because of the stretches. I also have a new found great respect for the martial art. However, I have realized that my arms and legs (forget the mind!) coordination are way too bad. It struck me that I am not the sporty kind. I knew that then but this experience has cemented that fact.

I’ll just go back to jogging which I really enjoy but I am keeping my "Gi."

Gifts for Guys

I admit, it's rather difficult to buy gifts for my husband and male relatives and friends because I find the choices very limited. Unlike gift-giving for girls, there are a myriad of items and themes to choose that buying women gifts make it a strenuous task. There are items out there to choose when presenting something to someone special in your life. The gift will vary according to the taste of the recipient and the budget of the giver.

When buying gifts for the male species, one must consider the person's favorites and preferences. For example, if you are giving a gift to your husband who is a football fanatic then the suitable things to consider are pertaining to football gifts like jersey shirts or signed/autographed football or even football paraphernalia.

If the person is the fashionable kind then a nice shirt or a matching tie or cuff links are good bets. I don't think shoes are good gift options because he may not like the style you will choose. A gift voucher will be more apt so he can choose what he likes.

If budget is not an issue for the gift-giver and the recipient is a tech savvy person then the latest iPad craze will be a good gift or smart phones or for the directional-challenged person, the GPS navigation system is a good choice.

Too Old for Karate?

It's like a sign from above! That's what I told my husband when we saw the "karate school soon to open" sign near our flat. It is a mere 5-min walk from my place to there so all I have to do is just wait for it to open. Then a thought hit me? Am I too old to learn karate? Are my bones fragile (I'll come to know this part when I do sparing!)? Do I have brittle bones that a slight jam on the shin will break them to smithereens? Am I fit to do that or too fat to even lift my legs? Well, maybe I can learn the rudiments but not join any sparing competition. If I do that, I'll be forever in the white-belt category. So many choices! The dilemma!

Anyway, I have been waiting for the right time to learn new things. Although I am not sure if I even qualify but I just want to try. No harm on that, right?

Neighborhood Block Party

I grew up in a gated community with loving and family-oriented neighbors. I remember spending after-school hours with my friends and their parents would welcome not just me but my other siblings too. We would play until night time and nobody really mind. It was fun growing up in a neighborhood like ours where everyone else was considered a "distant" relative.

The good familial camaraderie didn't end on spending playing times with the children in our neighborhood but our parents were also friends with the other parents around. So, whenever there were special occasions to celebrate, our neighbors were ready to share the happiness by having a block party. Merriment was aplenty, the entertainment was great and we all had fun.

My relatives and friends in the US normally attend block parties especially related to their favorite sports - football. It was different ballgame in the Philippines, we'd have block parties pre and during basketball season. They would get busy preparing for the nitty-gritty details of hosting block parties. The football party supplies must cater according to their requirements to satisfy a great number of football fans.

Just like any block parties related to sports, it won't be complete without the nfl betting OR bet on football practice of the celebrants.

I miss having block parties. I wish it can be practiced where I live currently.

Baseball Moms

Some of my mom friends in the US are great baseball fans. They watch the games with their husbands and kids and cheer from the side-bench. I only get to see a baseball game on TV. My friends and their families really go the extra mile to support their teams. They even wear matching jerseys and baseball caps. They even send their sons to play baseball at the parks so they can harness their potential in pitching and batting; hoping that someday, they will become a part of the Major League.

I am really surprised by the way they instill baseball in their sons' lives. They even buy a baseball bat online to ensure their kids' proper batting. They are there full time to cheer, give moral support and be mommies.

It is really great to see parents who support their kids in their activities and hobbies. I am glad that the kids do not mind as they also love the sports. Family support is a good factor in instilling sportsmanship in the young minds. My friends are doing great being baseball moms!

Beach Body But Sun-Scared

It's that time of the year again where I always tell myself that I am definitely wearing a bikini. Like the previous years, I always end up in a one piece swimwear hidden under a loose shirt. Sometimes I wear shorts and a bikini top, again only to hide under a big shirt.

It's not that I do not have any confidence in my body, it's just that wearing bikinis, tankinis, one-piece suit or any bathing suits for that matter in this terribly hot and humid country is making me think twice on whether or not I will expose my sensitive skin to the harsh rays. I want to feel comfortable and at the same time not worry about how safe my skin will be under the heat of the sun. However, Dubai has plenty of beautiful beaches where you can actually sun bathe, apply suntan lotion and wear proper swimwear, even bikinis! It is hard to resist the call of the waves, the yellow-creamish colored sandy beaches, the cozy cabanas, jet-ski, surfing and the sports in the beach.

Dubai lies in the Middle East where the sun scorches and the rays just pierce your skin making you like a living, walking prune. I do not go out at the beach without wearing sun protection because it is just too hot here. I even wear sunscreen while driving, so you could just imagine how hot it is in this part of the world. A lot of the expatriates here who are sun worshippers love the beach area. I always see them apply either sun tan lotion or sunscreen but at the same time, enjoy the glorious sun.

I know a lot of people will go in drove to the nearest beach area to cool off wearing their beautiful swimwear. I just hope they will be wise enough to keep their skin safe and have their sunscreen lotions handy, just in case.

Great Gifts for Him

My husband already received a gift from me for his birthday this month. My daughter and I picked it up amongst the many other choices in the mall. It took us nearly an hour just to decide what to give him and finally settled on an MP4 gadget.

It has been a tradition in our family to present "treats or goodies" whenever there is an occasion. Now that Father's Day is just around the corner, my daughter and I are in our pursuit to find unusual gifts for men. We want the gift to be not just special but also unique in a way that I know my husband will truly like and use.

I have just found the right place to search for the kind of items I have in mind for my husband who is a practical man and loves anything functional. With the limited time I have because of personal and professional commitments, I can only peruse the web for great ideas and do my online shopping. Men's Gifts is a one-stop-shop for birthday gifts and other wonderful items you may want to give to your precious better-half or male friends or to your male family members.

The site is teeming with so many gift ideas that I am having a ball! They offer various items from affordable gifts to the luxurious ones. There are gift baskets as well so you can just put all the items you want in one presentable gift basket with various themes.

I like the way the site offers multitude of choices with themes so I can weigh my choices better and what ever will suit the preference of the receiver. With Men's Gifts, I am not limited to just giving my husband a gift for his birthday because they cater to other occasions too like anniversaries, Father's Day, even that well deserved "promotion" gift or just about anything. The site also offers free engraving on orders on personalized gifts and free ground shipping on orders above $25. Not only that they give you these excellent offers, they also provide customer service assistance should you need some advice on what to give by calling their toll-free number.

After going through their numerous gift ideas, I have already narrowed my choice to at least 2 items which I am not telling. It's supposed to be a secret. Oh, just a hint, it is about travel... So, next time you need some great ideas and don't know where to start or what to look for, just check out www.mens-gifts.com and you will be surprised with the variety of great gift ideas you can find.
