A lot of us here in Dubai have been praying for rain to come, even briefly. And our prayers are answered last night and today.
It doesn't rain here often but when it does, it signifies the change of season. We're ushering to the winter season now so we expect a drop in temperature in the coming days. That can only mean one thing, hello winter clothing!
As of this writing, it's still raining like cats and dogs. I had to put the air condition unit off because it's a bit cold and bearable. The road's wet and the drainage is not that good here. So, it's a bit flooded in some roads. Thank goodness it's weekend so there's not much traffic around except for some cars and trucks doing their usual business on a Friday morning.
I miss the rain, not the hurricane or typhoon kind but this light steady downpour as it washes the sand away. It's not every year that we get rain here and when it does, it's a welcome respite to the hot, summer days of the previous months.
It's nice to just sit near the balcony, watch the rain fall and drink a very hot chocolate in this rainy Friday morning.
Congrats for the answered prayer! i could just imagine how sandy and hot DUBAI is :) one dream of mine is to get to Dubai too.
ReplyDeletei always associate rain as a blessing. a downpour of blessings to everyone who knows how to appreciate it. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you feel nostalgic when it rains? Nostalgia clouds over me when it rains here, parang gusto ko umuwi hahaha.
ReplyDeleteHi Ria, you want rain? Come here. Don't worry it's not like typhoon. Maulan lang talaga dito.
ReplyDeleteThat what Christians call 'Prayer Power". Seldom lang pala umulan dyan ng tubig. yung sandstorms madalas ba?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures from the top Sis :-) I am glad it rain finally :-) Hope it will not flood :-) It is brutally cold here in New York am glad that I am sitting warming up with the fireplace :-)

ReplyDeleteCongrats sa Rain! Enjoy it while it pours. :D God bless!
ReplyDeleteI love the rain. Especially the rainbow that comes out in the glorious sky after a heavy rain or storm. I bet everybody loved the rainfall you've been blessed over there! Us here? we're dealing with the snow already. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post! This explains the video I watched from a friend's video that I watched yesterday where there was a little flooding. Their family is in Dubai.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! It's indeed an answered prayer. We're actually praying for few days more, if that's not much to ask :)

ReplyDeleteAnna
I never know na seldom lang pala umulan dyan.If we have rain here it means we have flood warning sometime.lol
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the in Dubai,it seldom rains. Honestly,I already have a phobia when it rains here in our place :( That's because of the flood.
ReplyDeleteGood thing the rain has come! I think that Dubai has not really invested much on their drainage system because of the scarcity of rain but with all the developments in there, they must act about it.
ReplyDeleteGod is always good, He knew what we need. Must be really nice to experienced rain in Dubai, my friend who's working there always wish for rain...so I bet every Filipino (assuming) is happy there now. Enjoy the rain and watching it, hubby and I loves listening to the sounds of the rain from our balcony. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a blessing when there's a downpour. It's indeed a welcome respite especially when you're so used to a humid climate.
ReplyDeletei love rains! especially after a hot humid day. but not too much though to the point where it floods the streets. hehe
ReplyDeleteAy! That's really good to know! :) No wonder my cousin-in-law is so happy when she messaged me in WhatsApp when it rained in Dubai. I was like, "hindi ka pa ba nakaka-experience ng rain, ate?"
ReplyDeleteLol. Little did I know, madalang lang pala ang ulan dyan! :)
Ay. One question po ate. Will it snow there in Dubai ba during winter season?
