Morning Walk and My Dose of Vitamin D

Oh, it feels so great to wake up early when everyone else is still in their slumber. I am an early riser so I get to enjoy seeing the sun rise and hear the birds chirping by the window sill. Such a lovely day!

I woke up at 6 a.m. today and willed myself to change to my track suit for a morning walk in the park. The weather is a little hot these days so I didn't walk for long. It took me 40 minutes to walk around the full circumference of the park and the sun was already up and bright.

Morning sun's rays are still safe. Staying longer than usual specially in this part of the world, will either leave you sunburned or exposed to the harmful effects of the rays. So, by 7:20, I was already on my way home but happy that I got to practice breathing while walking and soaked up some much needed D's.

You can also get Vitamin D from food such as cod liver oil, sardines, tuna, mackerel, fortified breakfast cereals, eggs and butters and other vitamin supplements. Consult your physician first before you buy supplements.
