"Je ne comprends pas." That's probably the most French sentence I can ever say if I were to speak to a French-speaking person. It means, "I don't understand." Well, let's see if that's the case after I get on with this French 1 Pimsleur Approach Gold Edition cds to learn French. French is one of the languages I want to learn like it was my native spoken language.  I love how romantic it sounds and the way it is spoken.  Aside from that, my love for the French culture, food and even the country as a whole is one of the reason why I wanted to speak like a native, or at least, learn enough to be able to converse with ease. My daughter has learned French from her elementary until she was in Grade 9. I seldom hear her speak French with classmates and I just love the sound of it. Hence, the desire for me to really learn the language by heart. What I like: Easy to use and follow Compact packaging and cds/dvds are all placed in booklet styles. High retention due to the repetitive style of learning Fast way to learn a foreign language No need to take down notes or memorize things Not time consuming, you'll have to learn for 30 minutes each day depending on your available time You can always go back to the previous lessons What I don't like: Unlike the Spanish 1 Pimsleur Approach Gold Edition I received sometime back, this one didn't have the "Passport booklet" and some cards where I can get the serial number to use to claim the user manual from the website and some information about the cds. I am not sure if it was really like that or it was missed during packaging. However, the seller provided the info to me via email. Price: $115 My recommendation: I highly recommend this. Do try this before enrolling in some language schools or getting a tutor to teach you a foreign language. Just as I have quickly learned Spanish 1 using the Pimsleur Approach method, I am not surprised about this one since it follows the same tenet of Dr. Pimsleur's methods of high saturation of words which are repeated many times for easy retention and recollection.
