Popocatepetl Volcano Erupts in Mexico

The Popocatepetl Volcano in Mexico erupted yesterday and has remained in the Yellow Phase 2, meaning, the volcano is now inaccessible but no evacuation has started yet.

Scores of flights from the US to Mexico have been cancelled due to the volcanic activity and Mexico National Airport will continue to monitor the developments of the volcanic activity to inform the passengers of the status.

People of Mexico and nearby areas, please be safe and practice sensibility and caution.

Grimsvotn Volcano Eruption

Grimsvotn Volcano erupted in Iceland on Saturday, May 21. This eruption is far greater than the one last year but may not be as wide-spread as Eyjafjallajokull. The eruption last year caused a major international chaos in the aviation industry as most European airports were shut down due to the ash fall and low to zero visibility.

Saturday's eruption sent plume of ash, smoke and steam as far as 20 kilometers to the air. Aviation officials are closely monitoring the situation. Hopefully, the eruption will last not longer than last year.

Volcano Erupts in Iceland

After a ground-shaking event happened to China two days ago, a volcano erupts in the idyllic Iceland on the same day. The FIMMVORDUHALS Volcano near the EYJAFJALLAJOKULL glacier in Iceland spewed ash clouds and steam. People in Iceland fear for flood because the eruption can cause the melting of ice.

People are being evacuated to safety in the event another major eruption occurs. This is the second time the volcano erupted in less than a month.
