Will E-Commerce Be For Us?

I have mentioned in the past about my desire to put up my own online clothing and accessories store but kept putting it off because I still don't have the money to buy the goods I want to sell. I am also still a full-time career person especially now that I moved to a new department. My goal has been set aside for the meantime. However, my husband has the knack for selling stuff.

Before we left for New York, my husband already prepared a list of what to buy which he would sell later on. I offered to help him put up an online shop. So, I checked the internet for any free e-commerce sites and found some. I also looked for a good website builder to help create the online shop website I have been dreaming off. Unfortunately, my husband still prefers to stick with the most popular way of letting the word out about his side-line - word of mouth!

His selling method does work and it is free so I cannot compete with that. I do think that with his talent and large circle of network, he can be successful with an online shop. And it all comes down to the big question, how much money will we have to shell out to finance the e-commerce? Is it really a business for me or us that we can handle and be successful in the long run?

Transactions Back Home

It's been a while since I last went home. I think, come July, it will be a year since I last traveled to the Philippines. Times have changed. I don't travel as much as I used too. I am very strict with my budget these days especially now that we will have a major project to do by the end of the year. So any opportunity I can get to save money is really important.

There are so many things to do back home. I have paper work to process for the Land Title and I have to run errands which I have not done so in the past. If I can only do all these things through video conferencing and legal power of attorney documentations, then there will be less stress, hassle, expenses and trip to think of.

I didn't realize that selling a property will be a lot of hassle. I have a lot on my plate to face when I come home in July for few days. I just hope that time (and the money) will be enough to finish what I have to so I can heave a sigh of relief.

Flea Market Day Tomorrow

I did my last minute clearing of old clothes, books and toys this morning. I can finally say that I am all set for tomorrow's Flea Market. I am looking forward to sell all the unused and unwanted stuff I will bring to the park tomorrow.

I didn't make any inventory anymore. My friend said it would be difficult to keep track of what is being sold. So, I'll just pray that every item I have will be bought so I don't have to take them back again and worry where to stash all of those stuff.

Selling your old clothes, toys, shoes, books and other stuff is a great way to earn and clearing closets at home to lessen the clutter. It's also a good idea to mingle and meet new people and probably strike a network with someone who has something good to offer, be it products or services.

I hope everything goes well tomorrow!

Clearing Unwanted Stuff

10 years in Dubai and we have already amassed so much! I am clearing so many clothes from my closet, including old shoes and bags. I even cleared my husband's and daughter's closets to sell unused clothes, toys and footwear.

The books are another story. We love books so much so it is very difficult to part ways to some of my collections. I even saw my pregnancy books which I kept for posterity. I browsed through them and relived memories of my motherhood. I read few chapters again on how to product more breast milk, the trimester of pregnancy and how to adjust to a growing belly. I even unearthed old pictures of my bulging belly in one of the books I have kept. Ah, the memories. However, I have to be practical. I won't be needing those books anymore so they will have to go.

The kitchen is also a haven for unnecessary kitchen utensils to sell. I have gadgets which I never used like the egg beater and electronic can opener. The verdict - they will have to go.

If I keep doing this every quarter, our house may end up empty! It's good to do this once in a while. At least I get money back from the things we barely use. I am learning so hard to be more practical and minimalist.

Cleaning Up for Spring

I am getting very irritated looking in our bedroom. It is like a library cum art studio cum laundry area cum pressing area. It is anything but a bedroom. So you could just imagine how hard it is to get some nice R and R because of that.

I am planning to sell used books, toys, clothes, handbags, shoes and other stuff I have collected over the years. I just can't keep things barely touched because they are gathering dust.

Spring has arrived and it is time to spruce things up. Adios old stuff!
