As if a 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October wasn’t enough, the central region of the Philippines was hit by another disaster, a 295 kph typhoon on November 8, 2013. Supertyphoon Yolanda (International name: Haiyan), one of the most powerful storms ever recorded, smashed the central part of the Philippines and left hundreds of millions of destroyed of properties, death toll at around 4000, and over 650,000 displaced survivors desperate for food and shelter among others.

My boyfriend cooked me my favorite food :)

My hubby did the laundry and pressed the clothes last weekend because I had migraine attack. That is special!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, I was on the way home when there was a buzz everywhere that a small plane crashed near our place. I was so worried but I don't have a way to call home because my cellphone's battery was depleted already. I rode a jeepney and this woman who said she lives near the place was crying and received text that her house was hit. She was a complete stranger but she allowed me to use her phone to call home. My house was a little bit far away from the crash and so our house and the kids were safe. Turns out her house was badly hit and everything was gone. Thankfully, her daughter escaped. I can never forget that stranger who took the time out to help me and lend me a hand when she, herself, needed helping.
