As if a 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October wasn’t enough, the central region of the Philippines was hit by another disaster, a 295 kph typhoon on November 8, 2013. Supertyphoon Yolanda (International name: Haiyan), one of the most powerful storms ever recorded, smashed the central part of the Philippines and left hundreds of millions of destroyed of properties, death toll at around 4000, and over 650,000 displaced survivors desperate for food and shelter among others.

I would like to request your support on this worthy event because we just cannot sit back and watch. 

As bloggers, we thought we could help these people by throwing this huge fundraising giveaway -- a way we are all very familiar with. We have already raised $515 from this event and continuing to receive more donations through GoGetFunding.com. There will be a turnover of funds to a legitimate organizations that buys, repacks, and hands out relief goods directly to the victims. Earth Hour 2011 in My Home

Like the previous years, we participate again in Earth Hour 2011. We actually started a little early than usual. We switched the lights off at 8:00 p.m. So our Earth Hour 2011 celebration is 1 and 1/2 hours in total. I hope others did that too. Here are some snaps I've taken to commemorate this worthy cause. We will do it again next year and the years to come. That is for sure!

Earth Hour 2011

Don't forget to participate please. We only get to do this once in a year. It would be great to do this every day at least and see the difference we can all make.

It will be Earth Hour again in few days time. Like the previous years, I and my family are supporting this worthy cause once again. We hope to be able to influence more of our neighbors here and friends and colleagues too.
