My Art Stash

While other ladies go gaga over make-up, I go loco over arts and crafts supplies (and bags! LOL!) I just love arts and crafts. I always tell myself I am seriously in the wrong profession. I should be in Graphic Design, Art Museum as a curator, an Interior Decorator, an Architect or an Arts teacher or have my own fashion line where I am the designer. In short, anything related to creative pursuits is my forte.

I have been buying arts and crafts supplies lately. I stopped for a while when I got so busy with my online studies. Since, I decided to give my online studies a break, I always end up to where I started - arts and crafts.

Funny thing, I wasn't even going to buy any craft supplies. I was actually looking on some beauty products when I suddenly decided to check another site I have always visited in the past. And guess what, I emptied my beauty products cart and decided to buy arts and craft supplies. I am happier with my decision and choice!

Review - Blami Chalk Markers #ChalkMarkers

**I have received this product with a huge discount in exchange of my honest review/feedback.

I am in the process of learning the ins and outs of Typography including hand lettering, chalkboard art, doodling, and watercolour painting. I like the liquid chalk as a medium because I can also erase it when I need some corrections. Blami Chalk is a good product to try.

What I like:

It glides smoothly on non-porous surfaces such as glass, plastic, smooth wooden surface and even glossy papers.

It doesn't take long for the ink to come out.

The nibs are reversible. You can use either the chisel type or the rounded end.

The colours are bright, neon and easily seen. It is best to use against a darker surface for the neon colours to pop.

It is water-based so it can be erased using damp cloth.

It comes in 12 right neon colours with additional 2: Gold and Silver.

The caps are not too tight so it is not a struggle to remove the cap when using the markers.

It dries quite fast.

You can use it over dried Blami chalk markers to create blended tones.

What I don't like:

When you press too hard, the liquid ink comes out easily. So be careful when using this marker and when using too much pressure when writing.

My recommendation:

I love these markers in spite of the mild nuisance with the liquid ink oozing when I use too much pressure when writing.  These markers are perfect for both adults and kids. You can use these markers for crafts, home business, to-do list, bulletin boards, cafe/bars/restaurant menu boards, and murals. Your imagination and creativity will surely be as colourful and bold as these Blami Chalk markers. I highly recommend it!

Review - Chalk Genie Liquid White Chalk Markers in 4

* I have received this product with a huge discount in exchange of my review/feedback.

I don't have any black board when I tested this product but I have one big dark wooden door that I have for myself to doodle and write on. Well, the initial use took a while before the ink came out. I think I have pressed the marker for less than a minute to drive the white ink out so I could start drawing/writing on my door. And when the ink finally came out, it didn't come out gooey nor watery. It was actually in a smooth consistency that even writing on my door seemed flawless. As if the woodgrains of my door was a piece of glossy paper. It wrote smoothly.

The ink is very white. It stood prominently against my dark brown bathroom door. And don't worry about making mistakes while using this chalk marker - it is water base! I just had to dip a small rag in water to remove or erase the mistake so I could write again. And there were very minimal white traces/residue of the chalk marker's ink left on my door. Actually, it was not very visible unless you take a close scrutiny.

I also tried the chalk marker on a dark green card stock. The effect I had on my dark wood door was different from the paper. The one on the wooded surface was more prominent while the one on paper was bland and lacklustre. So, I think this chalk board marker will really work well on blackboards, dark and hard surfaces that are not very porous unlike card stocks or black paper that is fine or smooth.

The chalk board marker is not so odorless. It has a very faint "alcohol-like" scent but it is very faint that you don't smell it while using. Only when you actually smell the nib, that's when you get a waft of the scent.

I like this product a lot. I think it will be great to have them in various colours for more pizazz in writing and artwork. This is a great product to use at home, in school, in cafes and restaurants and even in businesses. It is a fun way to do chalkboard art or lettering or for kids to practice on their writing.  Parents don't have to worry about stains nor mark on a dark wall or dark doors (like in my case) if your kids happen to use them as their canvas as they can be wiped off with a wet cloth. Although the white marks won't completely  go but it's wipeable and cleanable.
