A Dream Wedding

Most girls dream of being a bride one day. I did too when I was young. And I must say, getting married is one of the best experience a woman can face in her lifetime. I don't even regret getting married because I married the person I love. We have been in this happy and sometimes challenging union for the past 15 years. Our union is nothing compared to the people I know who have been married for more than 50 years. And I too, would like to see myself growing old with the same man I married many moons ago.

I still dream of a wedding and this time, it will be for the second time with my husband. I keep teasing him that we should renew our vow and tie the knot in a place like paradise. I know it is a long shot to convince my pragmatic husband but I am already doing my research.

Our second union will be in a paradise here on Earth. I scoured the internet for great locations and have hits for fiji weddings, beach weddings, exotic weddings and a lot more. I am quite intrigued with Fiji.

I have heard that Fiji is such a beautiful, small island nation. The people are warm and friendly. The island is filled with lush vegetation and pristine, sandy beaches. I may have fear of the open seas but the calm and inviting ambiance of what I saw in Fiji's Namale Resort and Spa is enough to make me forget about my fears. To Travel Soon

I was supposed to go to San Francisco with my hubby and daughter today for the long Eid holidays but due to lack of time and not to mention funds and leave credits; I had to bail out.

I just dropped my hubby to the airport an hour ago for his flight and I really, really wanted to go. Sometimes I ask myself, why I am always stuck here when I can go? The answer always boils down to lack of leave credits. I wish I had many!

One might wonder why at this time of recession, we can still have the opportunity to travel. Answer to that is because we get discount airfare being airline staff. We only pay minimal fee for the ticket price. Also, we get rebate tickets from other airlines and avail of their cheap flights too.

There is a downside to being a staff too. We get very low priority in check-in because of our ticket cost. Most of the time, we even get bumped-off in preference to a paying customer. Well, I have had my share of bump-offs and I am certainly used to it.

Working in the airline industry is probably the best for people who is on the go and likes to see the world like we do. We get many travel advisory from other countries and offers on various destinations guide. We may not be paid well as compared to other companies but combining all the free and discounted ticket fares and special airline staff rates on most destinations and hotels, I think it is really worth it!

So, I may just travel again this January to New York. I have always dreamed of seeing snow so that time will be the best time to travel during the cold season. Anyway, I love cold weather! Big Apple, here I come!

Around Coronado, San Diego

Our visit to San Diego was tiring but fun and we loved the weather so much. It was pretty cold though, considering it was nearing spring. Maybe we are not used to low temperature having lived in this part of the world where you can actually cook eggs on the street!!! That hot!

We went in and around the famous and very old Hotel del Coronado. It was built in 1887, entirely out of lumber. Famous state dignitaries, royalties and celebrities have already stayed in this luxurious beachfront hotel. It is also said to be haunted and has been featured in some documentaries on haunted hotels. We even had picture on the stairway. Being inside was outright spooky. I had that funny feeling all the time we were in. I had to ask my daughter to accompany me in the loo because I was too afraid to go alone!

I Love Rome - Part 1

Here are some photos taken in the holy and historical Vatican and St. Peter's Square.

Just a tip - wear a very, very comfortable shoes or sandals. When visiting the Holy place of Vatican, do not wear shorts and sleeveless or any revealing clothes. I have seen a lot of tourists wearing skimpy clothing (I wonder why they even have to wear anything at all...) and was not admitted inside. Like most religious places of interest, one has to respect and conform to their norms.

Songs of the Sea at Sentosa

Last time I have been in Sentosa, there was no Songs of the Sea show. I am glad we've checked it out and the princess enjoyed the show so much we wanted another encore! It was awesome. I hate to give away the details of the show because it's really worth seeing. So, when you decide to visit Sentosa Park in Singapore, never miss out the Songs of the Sea show because it's worth the wait, the money and the time! Great show!

I'm back!

Yes! I was itching to type away! I have definitely morphed into an addicted blogger. Few days away from my laptop didn't do any good. I am never leaving my typing activity at all.

The trip was tiring and I am sad that I was not able to meet a good blogger pal - Jade. We exchanged texts and I was really hopeful to see her. However, travelling with other parties can be very tiring too because they have their own plans and I have mine and somehow, I have to cancel mine to accommodate theirs (I don't want to hurt some one's feelings so I had to give way...).

It was still a fun-filled vacation for us especially for the young princess since it was her first time to visit Singapore. A lot has changed indeed since the last time I have been there; 6 years to be exact! There were so many constructions which I had not seen back then. I think Singapore is busier now as it was before but it still remains to be one of the nicest cosmopolitan places in the world.

We spent the whole day in Sentosa. Due to time constraint, we were unable to visit Jurong Bird park and the Night Safari for the little princess' educational tour. Well, the day spent in Sentosa was enough to excite her senses especially the glass-bottom cable ride, the pink dolphin show, the fish and other sea creatures in the Underwater World and the great show of the Song of the Sea.

We'll be back in Singapore for sure. The next time will definitely be a longer one and I WILL HOLD THE REINS!

Off to Singapore

This year has been a busy travel year for us. I had blocked my leave dates already to accommodate all the travels we will have to do for this year. I didn't plan for a jet-setting 2008 for my family but due to some important family occasions and the extra airline tickets we have to use (hubby and I are airline staff so we need to use those tickets), we're off again this time to Singapore.

Last time I have been there was 2002 and I am sure that a lot has changed as what Jade said of Momma Wannabe whom I will be meeting (crossing fingers and toes!) there. I am excited! She'll be the 3rd blogger friend I will be meeting in person.

So, I won't be around for few days only as my family and I spend our weekend in the beautiful city of Singapore. We'll be meeting the in-laws there to celebrate my mom-in-law's 70th birthday and she doesn't know that we will be there. This is going to be a great surprise for her. I can't wait to see her facial expression =)

I'll post pictures once I come back. I still owe you my photos from Rome and I have been bugged lately to arrange my photos. Hopefully I can get my act back and organize it before everything piles!

Thanks to all of my dear friends who wished me well while I was sick. I still have the sniffles and the terrible itchy throat but barring any circumstances, I'm still off to Asia. I have packed with me some colds and cough medication. I just hope I won't be too groggy to enjoy the trip and this is my daughter's first time in Singapore. So, tuh-tah for now and I'll be back!
