Admit it, you gobbled unwanted calories and munched throughout the holidays and now you feel a wee sick in the stomach. Don't you? If you'll ask me, I am very guilty of that!
So, it is time to remove the toxins I have unwittingly ingested during the recent holidays. Detox is a good way to do that. Here are healthy detox food you can take to aid you in eliminating the wastes:
1. Fruits - plenty of them!
Most fruits are high in liquid content so they will help in washing out wastes from our body. Apples, cranberries, lemons/limes, and grapefruits are some of the fruits you can take if you want to detox.
2. Green Food
Head to the market's produce area and buy the richest and deepest of greens. Green vegetables are rich in chlorophyll which rids the body of harmful toxins from pollutions, heavy metals, chemicals, etc.
You can stock up on broccoli, artichokes, brussel sprout, kale, to name a few.
3. Drink Green Tea
This bland beverage is packed of anti-oxidants and also rich in catechins which improve liver function.
4. Garlic
The mighty garlic has so many health benefits. It helps reduce bad cholesterol, aids in lowering blood pressure and is a natural antibiotic.
5. Omega-oil
This is commonly found in deep sea fish like salmon, avocado, flaxseed oil, and olive oil. Taking this supplement can lubricate the intestinal walls. Thus, allowing the toxins to be absorbed by the oil and eliminated by the body.
6. Plenty of water
Water helps flush out toxins. Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday.
