Closing My Beauty Blog

I am closing my beauty and fashion blog for an indefinite time until I figure out what I want to do with my blogging activities. It's so sad that from PR 2, it went down to 1 then to 0 and I somehow lost my blogging mojo because of that. Aside from losing it's page rank, I have also lost most of my sponsors and advertisers which help in paying my hosting plan and domain registration.

I love to blog but somehow my effort is no longer met with an incentive which is to also earn on the side. I have thought about this many times over but I have to shift my priorities to something that will benefit me and my family - my health. Yes, my focus will be my health now. I will still be blogging but not as often as I used to. I will still commit my 100% in product reviews, sharing my insights on current events, write stuff that I am passionate about and host giveaways when the need arise. However, for now, my main focus is my health and I have to get back on track on keeping fit and healthy.

I have been falling ill very often lately and it's not a joke anymore. It's time I put my blogging on the side while I put my priorities set for my health.

So, it's goodbye for now for my Red Lips and Pinky Toes blog. I'm not if I will reactivate it again but most likely, I won't. So, whoever wants to buy my domain, please message me. I don't know how to sell or transfer domains but maybe you do. Do let me know. Otherwise, it's going, going, gone.

Party Is Over! Welcome 2014!

Yes, the days of non-stop eating, partying, drinking and merriment has come to an end (temporarily!) and we are now in the first day of the new year of 2014. It's time to get serious to the reality after the holidays.

I am not good at making resolutions but I will try to live a healthier life this year. I aim for more travels, more quality time spent with the ones I love and more blogging opps to receive.

I don't believe in astrology nor predictions that the year of the Horse is not good for those born under the year of the Rat. I happen to be born in 1972 so that makes me under the year of the Rat. People are saying that the year of the Horse is not compatible with the Rat born people. I rebuke that and I don't believe such claims.

I just woke up with my first payment for my blog services for the year of 2014 and the mail came from a trusted and regular sponsor. Mind you, it is in 3-digits! Is that not blessed or what?

So there, whatever people say about this or that, I will rely on the fact that God will bless me with more opportunities because He knows I will be sharing it.

Here's to a year of good health, more love, tons of PEACE and of course, steady flow of income from my blogs and that means - loads of paid opportunities.

Yes, 2014! I am claiming you!

A Brief Info About SEO

When I started blogging, I was not very well versed on what was the scoop about blogging. All I knew was to write contents for my blogs, publish and blog hope. It was later on that I caught up on SEO, a terminology that up to this date still baffles me in some degrees.

So, what is SEO?

The term SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization and if the reference is directed to the providers of SEO services then we can also call it search engine optimizers. SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of a website in search results.

SEO plays an integral part to a blogger's success. It can aid a site's visibility in the world wide web by using proper keywords, meta tags, and indexing.

It is important that bloggers and webmasters are familiar in optimizing their sites to be easily found as indicated in the infographic below. A blogger or a webmaster who knows how to strategically optimize their blog content, keywords and meta tags will surely get the attention.

How To Generate Buzz For Your Product/Service

If you have a business or service to offer or has just started in the business realm of marketing what you have to offer, it pays to generate buzz for others to notice you and eventually enlist your service or buy from you.

There are many ways to generate buzz. It can be locally in your place or community It can also happen in the world wide web where you can have a wider reach in audience.

The internet alone is home to thousands upon thousands of online business sites that peg their wares and services in various means. It can be done through referrals, affiliate marketing, ads and networking and enlisting the universal bloggers to pass the word around through their posts, ads, sponsorships, giveaways and comments. And as what Blogskinny has put in their infographic, it pays to allow readers to comment and create discussion as this method helps in fanning the flames of generating talk about your products and/or services.

(Update: infographic is no longer available. Sorry for the inconvenience. As of 15Sep2014)

More Blogging Opportunity With LinkVehicle

I am a member of LinkVehicle for sometime now and honestly, the first few months (or years, I guess) was very quiet. I think the opportunity was even non-existent that time. I would have a few and it would trickle every now and then. It changed when 2013 came and I am quite surprised by the number of assignments they give in a given month.

Below is a testament of the payment I received for the month of June alone. If that is not a motivation enough for all you bloggers, old and new alike, then I don't know what is.

Join The Blog Workshop And Learn How To Reap The Many Rewards Of Blogging

I may have been blogging for the last 7 years but if I have to evaluate myself in terms of being knowledgeable about what blogging is all about, including the technicalities such as SEO, keywords, tags, and categories are concerned, I can grade myself as a newbie. I did not know then that I can reap the many rewards of blogging if I only knew how.

The stark reality of blogging for the main reason of getting my thoughts across the cyberspace was actually one of the few reasons I engaged myself in blogging. The other positive perks like earning on the side, meeting more bloggers as friends, increasing traffic and simply being out in the cyber world are just the extra benefits that goes in the territory of blogging.

I have joined plenty of bloggers' forum and groups and have learned so much about the other side of blogging as a passion and also a mean to generate more income, leverage your site in search engines and getting noticed by advertisers, brands and PRs. And all those I mentioned will be part of The Blog Workshop.

What is The Blog Workshop? I am glad you asked. Well, for bloggers like myself, we also need tools/resources and a group of other like-minded bloggers (including vloggers or video bloggers) to come to a place where we can pass information, tips and tricks, increase fan base and meet other bloggers/vloggers, increase networking and get invitations to workshops and conference and even opportunities to learn and earn more about the blogging world and bridge the gap between bloggers and sponsors willing to put their brands on our blogs.

The Blog Workshop also conducts workshop and annual conference for bloggers and vloggers. Its motto "Where Blogging Meets Business" will be at the fore as bloggers enroll for the Introductory Blogging Diploma course in TBW University which will provide intensive lessons on the ins and outs of establishing a successful blogging business.

Here is a sample of one of The Blog Workshop's upcoming workshop and the topic is very appealing -  Surviving S.E.O:

Thank You To All My Readers And Commenters

I have been blogging for sometime now. During that time, I realized how blessed I am for having the chance and time to do what I love to do. And in the process, I have not given a chance to acknowledge the reason why my blogs are still online. I do appreciate my commenters but I have not dedicated a post to all my subscribers, readers, followers and commenters on their loyalty and support because without them, my blogs won't even stay afloat.

I hope you are enjoying your stay in my blog. I also hope that I have touched your life in a positive way through my experience and advise. And I also hope that you have learned so much from me and will be able to apply what you have learned in your own personal life.

This whole post is all about you - my wonderful readers! Thank you for your support.

This Blogger Is On Blog Leave

Every blogger needs a break from the blog scene and I am taking my blog leave from October 25 to 31, 2012!

Last time I went on a blog leave was last July and even then, it was a short break too just like now but it was something my mind begged so I could recharge and enjoy my time with my daughter. This time it's the whole family.

We are visting some relatives again in New York and we just love that place! The weather is cool and inviting, there are lots of goodies on sale and the autumn foliage is starting to show its wonderful hues. Besides those wonderful stuff, I kind of miss Shake Shack and Century 21!

So, if I will comment and visit your blogs on Nov.

This Blog Has A Page In Facebook

It's a first! I have never created a page for any of my blogs in Facebook. A lot of my blogger friends have done this already and I am a newbie at this page thing. Alas! I have decided to spread my horizon and reach out to more audience in the blogosphere.

So if you're blog-hopping or simply browsing the net and spending time in Facebook, why don't you check out my page and "like" your stay there :)

My Other Blog is Moving to WordPress

This is one of the most difficult decisions I have to make. I am not very keen with WordPress no matter what other people say. I used to have a blog there and I had to shut it down because I found it very cumbersome. However, statistics and a lot of credible blogger friends vouch for its ease of use and its functionality and features which other platforms cannot compete with.

I have decided to move my "Home is Where the Heart is" blog to WordPress today and hopefully, I will not regret this move.

My other blog will be down for the time being. I am still working my way around WordPress. It is new to me. I hope I will find immense joy out of this decision. My other blogs may soon follow suit if I deem it worthy. Time will tell...

My Tribute to all Moms - A Motherhood Rollercoaster Ride

I have posted this in my friend Jade's blog in honor of all the great moms out there. I am happy to share it to all of you mothers who made a great contribution to our lives. Happy Mother's Day and enjoy the read.

~oOo~

I am very thankful for the opportunity my good blogging friend, Jade gave me. I am so honored to do this post for her and it makes me happy to do so. Anything for a friend…

Well, this post is something very close to my heart. It’s about the rollercoaster ride of motherhood.

It is one of the best experience a woman can ever feel in her lifetime. It is both pleasant and frightening, similar to riding a rollercoaster with its many dips and turns. However, like any rollercoaster ride, it is not always down. Motherhood has so many “ups” to offer and I can vouch for that – because I am a mom.

I have never thought I would feel an immense love to that tiny being fluttering in my stomach when I found out I was pregnant. It is an unconditional love you feel to your unborn child knowing he or she is God’s blessing. I knew the moment I got married that I was ripe for that purpose, to carry a child in my womb and give birth to His likeness and being.

The first rollercoaster dip to a motherhood is the 9-months journey to reach one’s full term in pregnancy. Mine was very difficult. I was always bleeding and at the brink of miscarriage. I had to skip many days from work. I had a long and painful labor before I saw a glimpse of my little one – the source of my joy from there on. I knew then that I have come in full circle as a mother and have fully paid my dues to my mom when I gave birth.

Raising my daughter was another story. I had to endure sleepless nights watching her sleep. My rollercoaster ride to motherhood had taken its twist and turn now. With a limited savings, a husband who left for a better future for us while our daughter was young and being a first time mom in a home away from my family terrified me. I had to be both brave and strong for my daughter because no one else would be there when I had to cry for help. More dips, turns and twists to motherhood ensued right after. Being a mom also means you have to endure your child’s pain. Every child goes through their ritual of getting sick and going in and out of the hospital. I had my share of that and more while I was alone. A mother had to endure all that.

The many ups of motherhood is one to make your heart soar in great heights. For me, seeing her smile, getting chocolate-smudged kisses and hugs, holding her small hands, being with her are joys of a mother. These are valuable moments that cannot be measured and bought. Now I am aware of the depth of a mother’s love because I can feel it too. It’s very profound, very intense and very powerful. That’s a mother’s love.

And that rollercoaster ride does not end there. You will have to go through the process over and over again because that’s what a mother does. So, if you’re just planning or is already a mother or currently conceiving, this is all I have to say – enjoy the ride. It is all worth it.

I'm a Guest Blogger!

My good friend, Jade asked me a favor sometime back if I could post for her while she rested due to pregnancy. I said yes in a heartbeat. Of course, I don't mind writing for her.

The topic is about motherhood and this is close to my heart because I am one. Please feel free to blog-hop to my friend's wonderful blog and read on my post. You'll find great articles there too on her journey towards motherhood.

Thanks Jade! It is an honor.

Handmade with Love Blog

I am really having a dilemma here. I created the Handmade with Love blog to feature my handmade creations but I cannot seem to keep up maintaining 2 accounts. However, I feel that I must carry on and update it as my avenue for creative products to post.

I just feel a little uneasy about not having any readers at all but like this Party blog, this used to be a quiet blog until I reached this stage.

Well, I will continue posting to my HWL blog about my greetings cards and hopefully, my friends here in the party zone will visit that blog too.

You can tell your kids to check that out once in a while for new updates. If they feel like creating similar cards as the ones I posted, please be my guest. I would appreciate though a little "credit love" from you :)
