Keep Goals For A Healthier You

January 2014 is almost coming to an end. Have you already kept your promise to live a healthy life and engage in regular exercise for a healthier you? It is okay to start things slow but the fact of the matter is that, you have to start somewhere and commit to it.

Honestly, I am still baby steps when it comes to exercise. I have started eating with portion control though. At least, I am heading to something that will provide a better and healthier life for me.

As soon as you are able to embark on your journey to a healthy lifestyle, remember to do the following to meet your goal in the long run:

1. Write your goals down

It is best to see your goals set in stone; in this case, in paper! Make it a point to write your before and after measurements so you know how you are progressing as you go along.

Be realistic in your goals. You cannot write, for example, "I will lose 10 kilos in a week." I don't want to be sarcastic but you will lose weight that fast is something is terribly wrong but make it achievable. Have a decent goal like try to lose 2 kilos per week.

2. Be specific

Be specific as possible with what you want to become with this journey. You cannot just say, "I want to be sexy or well-built." That is easier said than done but what are the "specific" ways you will do to achieve those?

3. Keep a journal

Document your process and review them so you know which one is working and which one is not. This way, you can gauge how far you are now with your desire to live a healthy life and how near it is to reach the target. This will help motivate you in the long journey to a healthier you.

4. Do not deny yourself

I remembered what my nutritionist told me when I consulted few years ago. She said, if we are embarking on a healthier lifestyle, it is still a healthy way to enjoy the other foods that we used to eat but do so in moderation and not as frequent.  Do not cheat nor deny yourself of that small piece of pie. If you have been working out really hard and has committed to a regular diet and exercise, it is not bad to reward yourself with a food you like. You can also reward yourself with a weekend free of exercise, just laze around and enjoy a little quiet time doing your favorite hobby. Be kind to yourself.

I hope these tips will help you on your track to fulfill a commitment to be healthy and fit not just for the whole year of 2014 but as a permanent lifestyle. Good luck! I also need that!

I Want A Bike

Christmas is coming not too soon but I know what to ask my husband - a bicycle. It is a simple wish and I don't need the fancy one. I just miss the thrill of riding a bike and going to nearby places and getting fit.

I have been insinuating this "future gift" by asking my hubby to check out bike rack for suvs and probably have one installed in our vehicle. He asked why and I simply said, because it looked good. I just realized that was not the smartest response so I just hope he would get the subtle hints.

I am not asking for top-of-the-line bike. I just want a normal bike I can use when I go to the park or to other nearby areas in our place. Besides, Dubai is quite strict with the proper use of bicycles around town, along the streets and even parks. One has to wear proper biking gears and a reflectorized vest. It is mandatory to wear the vest for safety and visibility especially at night time. I am not going to ride at night anyway but having a bike would surely help me get fit.

No More Cold Weather

I think the cold season here in the UAE has officially ended yesterday. It was hazy again and the past few days have been story in a sandy way. That can only mean one thing - change of season.

I am preparing myself again for the change of season because it's flu season again. We always have to check on our immune system so we are covered. We already have our fair share of bad health in the past because of seasonal changes and this year we want to be fit.

We have been eating healthy lately and exercise will be in our regular activities soon. Getting fit and healthy is one of the key to avoid any illness this season change. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

Flabs to Fab

It may take a lot of years to actually make my mid-section fit and well toned, if not sculpted. I do not plan to have a muscular mid-section. I want it firm and not jiggly like how it is now.

My flabs started to develop ever since I got hooked on Facebook and other social media. My current post which is sedentary in nature also added to the current condition of my flabby tummy area. Although those are not the only factors to blame, you can throw in my lack of will power to commit on a regular exercise and genetics.

There are lots of supplemental aids in the market to help burn tummy fats. I have just checked abdominal cuts review and other fat-burner supplements to give me more insight on what they can do.

I know I can still achieve my goal of losing the bad fats and making myself fit and trim. I just have to be determined and committed.

"SUITS" You to a T!

Nothing can be more cumbersome than wearing something that does not fit you at all. My husband has to go through racks and racks of ready-made business suits only to have them repaired because the sleeves are too long, the shoulders droop and the length is long.

Thanks to MySuit.Com which offer custom suit because now it will be easy to find the right fit for his body type.

We checked the custom suit site and was pleased to find out that the mens’ suit are Made to measure to the person's body contours. We checked out the site's interactive "My Suit Experience" tab and found 3 easy steps to follow just by clicking and selecting your preference. There are wide array of styles to choose, from single button to double button to three button to four button and double-breasted jacket. You get to choose various lapels, stitching style, vents, pocket style, sleeve buttons, vests and even the pants style.

My hubby never realized all those when he was buying his ready made suits prior to checking the site. The MySUIT experience is one never to miss. Just by going through their site, you get to know the fine craftmanship and technology they use to give you the best suit. Their process time takes about two weeks which is not long enough considering the precise tailoring they will do to ensure you get your suit looking and fitting you properly. So if you are in for an appointment, just visit their appointment link and choose the style that will fit you to a T!
