Transition Your Shift Dress From Summer To Autumn

Summer is over and autumn has taken its rightful place in the cycle of season. And next thing we know it, winter will be rolling in. This is the time where we are changing our wardrobe to be suitable for the coming of the cooler months.  But wait! Don't just keep your dresses yet! Well, at least not one type - the Shift Dress. Yes, that shift dress that can show your "covered" legs during the colder season.

The shift dress is one of the classic dresses in the fashion industry. Every woman, whether you are working or not, must have at least one shift dress you can wear for casual and formal events which can stand various seasons.

With the rolling of the cooler months, one might think that the shift dress cannot go well with autumn and winter. As a matter of fact, it can and you'll be surprised how fashionable and stylish your dress can be when properly mixed, matched and accessorized.

Here are some tips of how you can transition your shift dress from summer to autumn and even through winter without feeling "cold."

  • Wear thicker tights

  • Pair with a long sleeves underneath or even on top of it

  • Accessorize with shawls and thick scarves

  • Wear with cardigans or coats or sweaters

No More Cold Weather

I think the cold season here in the UAE has officially ended yesterday. It was hazy again and the past few days have been story in a sandy way. That can only mean one thing - change of season.

I am preparing myself again for the change of season because it's flu season again. We always have to check on our immune system so we are covered. We already have our fair share of bad health in the past because of seasonal changes and this year we want to be fit.

We have been eating healthy lately and exercise will be in our regular activities soon. Getting fit and healthy is one of the key to avoid any illness this season change. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

Seasonal Skin Blemish

The weather is getting quite cool here in Dubai. It is this seasonal changes where my skin breaks out in rashes and other skin irritations. My face even becomes more oily considering the weather is cool and it should make my pores a little tight.

I think I have to minimize the use of a rich moisturizer for now so I don't aggravate my skin. A use of
therapores will use help in staving future break outs to save my skin from further damage.

Maybe I should change my moisturizer into a light one so I don't get too oily or I can actually fry an egg on my face! I have also avoided using facial soap for the time being just to clear away the blemish and rashes.

My face is not the only affected area. Even my arms have small rashes. I think I got this from playing with the fall leaves in Staten Island few days ago. I remember kicking all the dry leaves and started to feel a bit itchy on some of my arms but not on the legs area. Hmmmmm..... I hope there was no poison ivy anywhere on the bunch of leaves I have happily kicked around.

Anyway, my seasonal skin blemish is causing a stir at the moment. I am careful with my food intake too. Lesser fatty and fried stuff and more on fresh fruits and vegetables.

I hope this skin blemish goes away fast. I feel very uncomfortable.
