The New Movie of the Penguins from Madagascar

I had fun watching the trailer of the upcoming movie of the Madagascar spinoff - Penguins of Madagascar the Movie. The cute, cuddly and obviously crazy penguins are going to November to theaters near you!

The Penguins who are Skipper (the very smart and sweet talker), Kowalski (the tall one), Rico (the crazy one),  and Private (the "special" one) are off to another crazy and wacky adventure. New characters are added in the movie and the focus is on the 4 cuddly penguins.

I love the part when Skipper said "Let's forever bury this in the past" while wearing a German traditional  costume and was also playing an accordion, making him all the more cute!

I will definitely watch this movie. I hope my daughter is here in Dubai when it will be shown so I have someone to laugh out loud with.

Movie - Horrible Bosses

I haven't watched this movie yet. I actually haven't checked the cinema listings lately because I am too preoccupied with many other things than movies. But the title is a bit catchy and I am sure, a lot of people can relate to that!

Has anyone seen this movie already? Was it good? I heard it's a black comedy meaning, it employs sinister plots like death, warfare or even illnesses delivered in a comedic way.

The movie is directed by Seth Gordon (of Four Christmases) and stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston (who amazingly accepted the role of a maneater boss), Kevin Spacey, Collin Farrel and Jamie Foxx. Collin in a dark comedy? I better watch this!

What's New on the Big Screen?

It has been a while since my husband and I watched a movie together. It was the Ironman 2 and I enjoyed the thrill of watching the action-packed movie on the big screen.

I want to watch a movie this week. I like something funny and romantic or even animated as long as it is light and not violent. I can use my card to purchase the theater tickets in advance so I can reserve the seats my family and I prefer. I will wait until next Thursday so the new release of movies will be up by then. If not, we can all still catch Despicable Me or Toy Story 3.

Movie Date - Iron Man 2

This is not a movie review. Just an ordinary opinion from a movie goer like me. I haven't seen the first part so I don't think I can review this movie.

It has been a while since my husband and I went on a movie date. I think it was Mr. Bean's movie with our daughter and that was a long time ago. We just got home from the movie.

Well, I am not a big Robert Downey Jr. fan but I don't hate him. He's just one good-looking actor if I may say. I did like this movie and the way he acted so snotty was becoming him. Good job at that one. The effects are really good. I feel like being sucked in the movie whenever Iron Man flies. Whew! I give it my thumbs up.

I didn't like Mickey Rourke (was it really him? That 'Russian' villain there???). I don't know but he didn't seem to connect with his villain role. I think there is something missing there. It is like he is not giving his role a 100% of some 'vile' juice. Anyway, moving on to Gwyneth Paltrow's role as the secretary-turned-CEO. It was just normal. I liked Scarlett's role better than Ms. Pots (Gwyneth's role name).

I feel the ending was a bit hanging. I was waiting for more action but the stunt was brief. I hope there's part 3!

Movies and Me

Oh, I don't know what title to give this post. It's just that for the past week while I was having my much awaited vacation leave, I was also sick and in bed. During that time, I must have watched a dozen of movies I never dare to watch on the big screen.

Imagine being sick for almost a week? Boring right and utmost back-wrenching! So, I did the unimaginable. I watched and watched until I fall asleep or the medicine kicked in, which ever came first to knock me off.

I never thought I would enjoy the time spent at home watching movie and just lying in bed doing that. So what if the laundry piled up; the dirty dishes reached the ceiling and my back almost form part of the bed cushion? I was having a fun time while blowing my nose and coughing like a mad dog!

Tuh-tah for now. I am going to watch Julie and Julia and that's going to be very nice because it's about blogging and cooking! What a treat, though I don't like cooking but I like Meryl Streep and Amy Adams!

17 Again

I am not those who grovel at his feet but I do enjoy watching Zac Efron in HSM 1-3 although the latter installment was a bit awkward now. I would rather see him move on and dabble at anything like comedy-romance. I haven't checked the local cinemas if his latest movie - 17 Again - is coming soon here. Anyway, I am looking forward to see that movie in the big screen.

17 Again... I wish I am!!!

And they "played" happily ever after

I have been a big, big Disney fun. I could actually call myself a Disney baby because I grew up admiring everything Disney. So it's really a dream come-true when I visited two of Disney's theme parks in Paris and Hong Kong. It's like a time machine transporting me back to being a kid again and what it feels like to be one.

They played the theme songs of their Disney hits
and I can sing to every song playing! Wow, this is how it feels like to be young again.

I listed my top 15 favorite Disney movies of all time and here they are.
1. Beauty and the Beast
2. Cinderella
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Snow White
5. Alice in Wonderland
6. Fantasia
7. Pinocchio
8. Aladdin
9. Toy Story (all parts)
10. Ratatouille
11. Wall-E
12. Peter Pan
13. Bambi
14. 101 Dalmatians
15. Lady and the Tramp

What's your favorite Disney movie? Can you list 5 of your favorite movies, characters, songs and post them in the comment portion? Let's see what we have in common.

While your listing down your favorites, try Screen Life's Disney Bingo game and have fun with the whole family. This is ultra-fun and a modern way of playing the classic BINGO we all love. Your kids will love the colorful game cards and chips while the TV shows the number called.

It is available in Amazon.com or Drugstore.com so do check it out and let's all play happily ever after.

Movie time - WALL-E

My daughter and I have been raving about this movie since we saw it on the trailer when we watched Kung Fu Panda several weeks ago. My hubby has gladly obliged to take us to the movie today since it's weekend. We took the first screening and we're all glad we watched the film. The main character, Wall-E, reminds me so much of the famous E.T. or Extra Terrestrial which was shown while I was still in grade school.

My family is a huge, huge Disney fan. We just love their movies and cartoons and theme parks well so it's already a given that we'd see this film. Wall-E is a sci-fi, comedy of Disney and Pixar about a lonely robot who discovers something new when he came across a search-robot named EVE. The adventure began when EVE found the key to the planet's future.

Cast of the movie:
Ben Burtt as WALL-E
Elissa Knight as EVE
Jeff Garlin as Capt. McCrea
Fred Willard as Shelby Forthright, CEO of Buy N Large Corp.
John Ratzenberger as John
Katy Najimy as Mary
Sigourney Weaver as AXIOM's computer
