Circus Camp in December

When I was young, about 4 or 5, I remember jumping around, doing cartwheels, splitting and bending my body until I reach the floor. I was very flexible and quite puny so my mom thought of enrolling me to a gymnasium class. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and probably lack of fund, that dream went down the drain.

Now, I see my dream in my daughter's eyes whenever she watches those ladies doing ballet, somersaulting gymnasts and the acrobatic acts of the circus performers. She is lanky and very petite but I find her tall to be actually doing those stuff. I know she wants to do some of the acrobatic tricks because she loves cartwheeling when she was younger.

Maybe I will check out the circus arts camp in New York this December. That will be a great opportunity to show her around the summer camps Westchester area. My cousin lives in New York so I think a drive to that place will be a bonus attraction to my daughter's Christmas wish this year.

Well, I know it's winter and all but it's not bad to think about the summer camp activity my daughter may engage in the future. Who knows, she may just decide to study in the US and take up the summer camp westchester fun!

Strategy Games for Young Minds

Nickelodeon has spent years catering to the enjoyment of children, and the games found on their website are no different. Running the gambit of action to strategy games, single to multiplayer games, and everything in between, Nick.com has managed to incorporate the best of their television series into fun, entertaining, and sometimes educational, games.

Game play changes drastically between each game, both in genre and in difficulty level. On the light end, there is a simple coloring game featuring characters from the Rugrats television show. Much like a coloring book, there is no challenge other than attempting to keep the colors in the lines.

However, the other end of the spectrum holds a cornucopia of strategy games, some of which capable of challenging even adult minds. For instance, the Avatar: Ashes in the Air game is rather simple for the first 10 to 12 stages, but then the difficult scales incredibly, as you attempt to extinguish the fires using the limited number of moves.

They even have strategy adventure games, such as Han’s Han’s the Biking Viking: Leaving Loki’s Lockup. The creators of this ingenious little game have taken a standard platformer, incorporated teamwork strategy, and wrapped the whole thing in an entertaining plot line. It tends to come across as short for many adults since it is only 11 levels long, but for the average child who will most likely return to those levels to collect the hidden runes, the game will prove to keep their attention for a decent amount of time.

Even with the numerous custom games on their roster, Nick.com has not forgotten the traditional board games that we all grew up with. In fact, in their multiplayer games section, they have both chess and checkers, using the Nickelodeon cast of characters, of course. With an ability to email moves between two players, they have even managed to deal with the distance problem. It is obvious that most of the games on the website have had a decent amount of thought put into them, not just from their user reviews, but from the enjoyment that you will witness your children have as they sit down for another go at Pollution Solution.

Amy Poehler is a "Smart Girl"

I find Amy Poehler a very comical lady with a great sense of humor. I watch her in Saturday Night Live with Tina Fey as they relentlessly make fun of iconic figures. And boy, they do deliver with aplomb and great laughter! To see her do comical takes and funny impersonation of some political and even famous people makes my day.

Well, Amy Poehler is not just a joke-cracker. She is also a good actress in the movies, although most roles she play are funny ones. Here, in Cozmo TV, she is one of the inspirations behind the Smart Girls at the Party. I get to see a more serious Amy Poehler in these web series that she created together with another Amy and Meridith. This web series is a great site for young people and their parents alike as it fosters the raw talents of young minds and establish good interaction for parents and kids as well. It is very wholesome and entertaining. It is like a breath of fresh air after watching programs in the media which only depict negativity and violence. This is something parents and their kids should be watching.
