Review - Terra Friendly Solar Night Light w/Snuggle Cover #OriginalHybridNightLight

I bought this product with a huge discount in exchange of my honest review.

First and foremost, this is a very cute cordless Led lamp. It has various covers and I bought the one with the owl print cover which is also removable. The led lamp is a small cube approx. 4 inches tall and wide. It works on solar energy so it saves you from buying battery packs or charging using electricity.

The small led cube is perfect for outdoor and indoor use. I am actually using it as my night lamp because of the convenience it brings. It does not have a cord and it won't tumble or fall if I accidentally push it on my night stand. It is light weight too and I can easily carry it around using my index finger without any effort.

There are 4 settings to choose if you want the led cube lamp to go brighter or dimmer. Then there is a power button on the middle of the base for power on/off function.

Another good thing about this product is that it can float! You can use while camping near the lake without any fear of it getting wet. And you can take it too fishing! Aside from that, use it as an outdoor lighting decor during parties and as floaters on pools.

The only problem I had encountered when I first used the product was that, it took me a while to inflate it because I don't have a balloon blower to use. I had to blow air to the small led cube and I even had to ask my husband to help half-way through because I couldn't inflate the cube fast enough. Other than, I don't have other complaints about this product. It is very functional for me to use.

You can purchase this from Amazon.

GlassDharma Straws - The Perfect Eco-Friendly Gift for the Holidays

I support anything that is eco-friendly. I like products that don't use much of the dwindling resources found in nature. And using glass is one of the way to avoid the use of plastics which always end up in the landfill.

I have tried and tested GlassDharma glass straws and I can ascertain that they are the better (if not the best!) option to use than plastic straws.

I have to thank GlassDharma for sending me this fantastic Decorative Dot (9.5mm x 9") with blue accent glass straw and 1 cleaning brush (1-3/8") to clean the inner part of the glass straw.  I don't have this type of straw yet and it's big enough to be used for smoothies too.

There are many things that I find very beneficial in using GlassDharma's glass straws.

GlassDharma straws are made from borosilicate glass, the safest and strongest glass commercially available

The straws are microwave and dishwasher safe.

GlassDharma provides a Lifetime Guarantee against breakage. It means, if it breaks (due to natural causes and not due to negligence), GlassDharma will replace it.

The glass straws are made for various types of drinks! You can use it for cold and even hot drinks.

The straws are kid-friendly and safe. They don't have any jagged edges that can wound young kids.

The straws are great for all kinds of drinks: bubble teas, iced drinks, shakes, smoothies and juices.

And this is one of my reasons for loving this product so much - it helps prevent teeth-staining from drinking caffeinated and even acidic drinks.

Lastly, it's so easy to clean! You can buy GlassDharma straws with brushes included in the package so you can clean the inside part very easily and the brushes vary in sizes depending on the glass straw's diameter.

GlassDharma straws are handmade and manufactured in the US. They are great gifts and even stuffing fillers for the coming Holidays. Surprise your family and friends with their very own GlassDharma and help be a part of people who support sustainable and more eco-conscious lifestyle.

Classic example of GlassDharma straws to present as gifts:

This Product trio ($31.00 value) makes a perfect gift for the gift exchange
at your Holiday party or even lovely stuffing for your Holiday stockings!

Review - 8" Green Earth Pan by Ozeri

My husband and I have been mulling over changing our frying pans to more efficient ones. I am very pleased to receive the 8" Green Earth Pan by Ozeri because we had a trial run about the non-stick performance of the pan compared to the previous Teflon pans we have.

What I like:

What I instantly noticed about this frying pan is the textured surface on the shape of hexagons like that of a beehive.

The non-stick properties of this ceramic pan is really superb! I fried a sunny-side up eggs without using any oil so I can test it's non-stick performance and I was impressed. I usually pour a small amount of olive oil on my teflon pan when I fry sunny-side up eggs because even when I don't use oil, parts of the fried egg still gets stuck on the pan. The Green Earth Pan by Ozeri is very effective on that part.

The food cooked a bit faster compared to when I use our other pans. I cooked corned beef in the morning and noticed that I finished in less than 5 minutes and it is a bit longer than that using the same sized ordinary frying pan and cooking the same amount of corned beef too.

The pan is not coated with harmful chemicals such as PolyTetraFluoroEthylene (PTFE) which is a known to release very harmful chemical at high temperatures. It also does not contain PerFluoroOctanoic Acid (PFOA) which is known as a pollutant to the environment.

The Green Earth Pan by Ozeri uses Greblon, a coating developed by Weilburger GmbH from Germany which is a ceramic coating derived from nature.

The 8" size of the pan is enough to use for frying smaller food like eggs, bacon, sausages, small serving of stir fry veggies.

I like the sturdy silicone handle which is also heat-resistant.

This pan can be used on induction ovens.

It is very easy to clean as the patterned surface helps prevent food from sticking.

It has a free thick felt pan cover so the surface won't get scratched when accidentally placed on top of another pan.

What I don't like:
Nothing. I am very satisfied with the Green Earth Pan by Ozeri's performance. It did not disappoint me at all.

Packaging:
It is packaged in a small cardboard box with cut-out window on the front to show the patterned non-stick surface of the pan and another cut-out window at the back to show the back part of the pan. It also came with a thick green felt so use when you want to stack it on top of another pan without accidentally damaging the surface.

Price:
This 8" pan costs $79.95 in a set of 3 (8", 10", and 12") in Amazon  and FREE Shipping (details in Amazon site)

My recommendation:
I highly recommend this product. I like how it is not heavy and how fast it gets heated and evenly too. I also like that it does not contain all those harmful chemicals which can seep into our food when cooked at high temperature. This is a great product to have and use at home.

Benefits Of Installing Bike Stands Near Train Stations

Many cosmopolitan cities in the world have train system that takes everyone from one point of the city to the other in a jiffy without the hassle of driving a car, getting stuck at traffic and contributing to the unnecessary pollution of driving.

A daily bike commute to the train station is a common activity of many people, whether students or workers, living in the city and suburb. A bike is usually the cheapest and the best way to reach the train station in time to catch the train for the commuter's next destination.

It is beneficial for cities to install bike stands near the train stations to accommodate commuters who prefer to reach the train station using bikes. Below are good reasons why local authorities and land developers must install bike stands near train stations:

Less traffic congestion
One less car on the street and multiply that to a hundred more will be a significant reduction on traffic congestion. Thoroughfares will be less congested as more people with bike will be encouraged to use the trains if they see bike stands or bike parks installed near the train stations.

Less pollution
With lesser vehicular smoke emissions, there will be less pollution in the environment. Hence, it is essential for any metropolitan and even suburban areas to consider having bike stands near train stations and even establishments and schools to keep the city clean and green.

Not space-consuming
A bike park with bike stands will not take up so much as space as much as a car parking lot or building. A normal 6-bike stand can occupy around 34 inches of plot only.

Improves health and wellness by encouraging exercise using bikes
Using a bike can burn more calories than driving. It helps rev up your metabolism while improving your cardio and overall well being.

Easy to maintain
A bike park with bike stands is easier to maintain than a spacious car park because of the little space it takes to be cleaned, monitored and maintained.

Cheaper installation costs
A simple bike stand that can hold 6 bikes (3 for each side) costs approximately between $70-$100 only than building a car park with roofs. A bike park will also need overhead covers and cemented flooring but materials for these are lesser compared to the number of materials to be used for car parks.

I have been around many cosmopolitan cities in the world and I have noticed how plenty of commuters are using the bike stands and bike parks near the train stations to park their bikes and proceed using the trains. My recent trip to Tokyo, Japan also highlighted how well accepted by the populace the bike stands near the train stations. They even have exclusive bike path around the city for bikers. I saw plenty of men and women in their business suits, traveling by bike, parking their bikes at the bike park just adjacent to the subway station. As a matter of fact, I have watched from Danny Choo's website about underground electronic bike racks around Japan. I wanted to see one. Unfortunately, I did not go to Shinagawa Station to see the nearby Eco Cycle. I saw the usual bike racks near Maihama Station in Urayasu area which is really packed.

It is important for a city to encompass this kind of parking space for bike commuters. Not only does it help in keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum, it also helps in saving gas, improves health and well-being and decongests road traffic.

Review - Woolzies, The Natural Fabric Softener

I have been using fabric softener ever since I started doing the laundry on my own many years ago. I thought of fabric softeners as man's greatest invention to mommies like me who wants her family's clothes to be soft, clean and nicely scented. And then came Woolzies!

I am so grateful that I found this product from another blogger's review. I thought I would give it a try. I am glad that I did. I am very thankful too for Woolzies for graciously sending me a box of Woolzies Dryer Balls containing 6 dryer balls. Now here are my findings and why I have fallen in love with this eco-friendly product.

Why I love it:

  • First of all, it is natural. It does not contain chemicals that can harm your skin nor the environment.
  • A great eco-friendly product.
  • It made our clothes less wrinkly. With the use of fabric softener, it only softened the clothes but the wrinkles are still very pronounced.
  • The dryer balls did not make noise at all inside the dryer.
  • The friction it created against the clothes made them more soft and less wrinkly.
  • It can be re-used plenty of time.
  • It saved me time pressing our clothes because of the lesser wrinkles.
  • The look heavy but they are light weight. Combined weight of all 6 dryer balls is barely 1 lb.

Woolzies is 100% pure New Zealand Wool. The dryer balls are handmade in Nepal from high quality and fine New Zealand wool. The company behind this genius and very helpful product is Soft By Nature, Inc. of New York.

The box contains 6 dryer balls which you can all use in one load.

I recommend this product to parents out there who have plenty of laundry to do and bust their budget buying fabric softeners that are not eco-friendly. Try Woolzies Dryer Balls!
