Family Bonding

A family could never be complete without having any family bonding. Most families have family bonding during weekends and some even have it everyday. Most of the families who have quality time together everyday are most likely the families who have daughters and sons who are still young. Their children don’t have any families yet so they have more time to spend with each other. For the families who already have in-laws, since they’re already staying in a different house, most of the time, they have a family reunion every weekend.

Family bonding sure is a very important factor in every family. Without having quality time with your family, there could be some problems that might occur. In order to avoid this, it would be best to spend time with your family whether it’s everyday or every weekend. By spending quality time with your loved ones, you’ll be able to make your relationship closer and stronger. Another good thing about spending quality time with your family members is, you could always give them the guidance they need upon growing up. Just think of a family who sticks together, isn’t it amazing?

I know some families who are really close with each other. Whenever I have the chance to spend time with them, I really can’t help but be happy for them and be amazed on how close their family is. It takes effort to create such a close family but if each member would exert some effort, it wouldn’t be impossible. A happy family starts with family bonding.

Visiting Relatives in San Diego

I am still thinking whether I will come with my husband to visit our relatives in San Diego this November. My daughter is not really keen about traveling to the US this time because she has been to San Diego and it's hard to keep up with a finicky teenager now. I am considering to stay here because I can't leave my daughter. I will come to a decision by the end of the month. 80% of my decision is leaning towards to "stay" here and just relax.

My husband is already thinking of the gifts he will bring to our relatives there. I told him that there's another special occasion to look forward to in April 2012. His nephew will graduate from high school. It's the right time to consider high school graduation gift ideas since there are still some sale going on after the GITEX 2011 event few days ago. A growing teenager will definitely love gadgets. We already gave him a rock star guitar which you plug on those game consoles last 2009. I think, something funky like the new MPs now or a smart phone. Well, I just let my husband decide.

New House

One of my relatives has completed the construction of her dream house recently. The house is not yet fully finished in terms of aesthetic factors. However, the house does have the complete electrical wiring, installed doors and windows, fenced perimeter and polished floors and tiled bathrooms.

I admire her high-ceiling because it allows the natural light to illuminate the living room. The house has 3 bedrooms, 1 at the ground floor and 2 on the second floor. It has 2 full baths and a small walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The kitchen is on the other end with a nook. The house is shaped as L so the garage is on the other end of the L with the kitchen.

The lawn is still a bit messy. Her family has yet to find a landscaper to beautify the garden. The fence is very simple vertical bars. She has not installed the address plaques for house which was a combination of house number and a picture of the Divine Mercy.

I am sure that once the finishing is completed and the landscaping is done, her house will be beautiful.

Not Going

I have been planning for another trip to the US since last November 2009. Due to unforeseen events, I had to cancel the trip for the last quarter of 2009. Come January, 2010, we planned to travel on the 2nd week of the same month but my passport got wet so we had to postpone to a later date until I get my new passport. Now that I have my new passport and ready to go next week, my relatives in the US requested if we could postpone it again to a later date because they are going through rough times in their personal lives.

So there, I am taking heed of the signs. This is the 3rd time my US trip got cancelled and that is it. I am not going there for the meantime.

I just hope everything goes well with my relatives there.

The LORD does speak to me in many ways and various forms. I shall listen.

Being a Good House Guest

I know my manners and I keep them checked at all times. Whenever we visit other people's house, we behave properly and respect the other members of the household.

I am a good house guest, that I can vouch for. However, I seem to be a magnet of people who are inconsiderate or simply ignorant. I don't know why other people in my household bring guests who think they own my place, do not know they are guests, bangs door, noisy kids and parents do not reprimand them, do not know when to tone down their voices and just don't care about the time of the day. I don't mind if it happens at 7 p.m. or even up to midnight, but at freaking 3:45 a.m.??? Common on! I have work in the morning for crying out loud!

That is my house too but as the ever-gracious hostess (actually, they are NOT my guests but someone in the house's), do I just shrug my shoulders and suffer in silence or do I firmly remind them to pipe it down?

If you are in my place, what will you do?
