Beni Ourain Rugs-Minimalist and Magnificent

Beni Ourain and Berber rugs are some of the most unique in the world. They are handmade from Berbers and Moroccans in the Beni Ourain tribe from mountainous regions of North Africa. These rugs are made with wool from sheep that are found in the Atlas Mountains of this area of the world. Because these rugs are made from materials that are completely organic, these rugs do not pose a problem for people who may suffer from allergies to volatile organic compounds, and with their natural dyes they are generally much better for the environment than other carpets made from synthetic materials.

These rugs also have a signature look. They frequently feature minimalist patterns and tribal designs, or a combination of the two. The simple color schemes with neutral tones like ivory make Beni Ourain and Berber rugs ideal for any number of color schemes in your home or apartment. The designs of a Moroccan Beni Ourain rug also make one of these items a great addition to any home no matter the aesthetic, whether rustic or modern.

Beni rugs have several uses, as well. As they are made from natural wool, they are very comfortable to sit on and can function as decorative throw items on recliners and sofas. As hanging items, they can add an exotic touch to a room’s overall décor. In the winter, a Moroccan Beni Ourain rug can also provide added warmth and insulation to a room if hung on the wall.

Beni Ourain and Berber rugs have a long history in the rural parts of North Africa. These rugs can be woven to accommodate the diverse climate of Morocco. They can be woven very thick, for instance, to provide warmth in the snowy mountainous regions, or can be woven more lightly, which is more appropriate for the hotter, more arid desert regions. The tribal people from whom these rugs originate historically have used them as coverings for saddles to make riding long distances more comfortable, to cover bodies during burial, and as festive clothing. They also have a history of sleeping on them. These items were placed on beds for greater warmth and comfort.

Beni rugs first became popular among Western designers in the middle of the twentieth century due to their minimalist looks, which paired beautifully with modern furniture. At the present time Beni rugs have seen a resurgence in popularity, as they are authentic handmade items that offer a one-of-a-kind look that can make any room in the home more interesting. In addition to being functional and good for the environment due to their non-toxic materials, they can bring real personality to a bland room or a run-of-the-mill piece of furniture.

Oh, I feel like I am a very posh girl with these towels! That's what came to mind the moment I held the towels. They are luxurious and it seems like the towels I use when my family and I book on 5-star hotels.

This set of 3-piece 900 gram Egyptian Cotton towel in Latte is perfect for the discerning user like myself. I don't buy towels for the sake of just having towels to use at home. I like my towels fluffy, well stitched and of high-quality because they will last longer than other ordinary towels. These towels are made of high-quality Egyptian cotton so they are so gentle on the skin.

I love the color I have chosen. It is in Latte. There are more colors to choose from but I prefer earth tones which complements the color of our bathroom.

Facts To Remember On Vinyl Wall Art And Wall Art Stickers

Guys have anyone of you came across the concept of vinyl wall art or what is also commonly known as wall art stickers? Vinyl wall art stickers and decals are a great way to spice up your magic wall without working very hard and going through a lot of hassle.

Vinyl wall art and wall art stickers are the best way to decorate your house at a reasonable price

I personally have a lot of wall art stickers in my house and among them, I love beautiful living room wall quotes most. I also have some lovely nursery wall stickers for my nursery, and my son love animals series the most. He is very happy to invite some cute animal friends to his own space. I am very impressed by the way these simple yet bright and colorful wall art decals could change the whole look of your room within few minutes of putting them up. I hate vacant walls myself and when we moved from our old small apartment to this house which is comparatively a lot more spacious than my old apartment I wanted to decorate it without beautiful stuffs but we all know how much it costs to get a house nowadays as things are not so simpler like it use to before.

In the old times expenses are so low and things were so cheap and reasonable everything could have been done easily. But now it is the opposite, isn’t it? Recession, job market is terrible all around the globe, the prices of things, not few but all the things are going up like crazy and income is getting limited for one and all. In these hard times we all have to plan each and every step so that we do not face any problem economically.

While we were planning to buy the house me and my spouse currently living at we had to go through all the small and big expenses, home loan schemes, financial plans, expenses related to moving and shifting out furniture and stuff in the new house and several other costs. With so many things going on we hardly had any money left to decorate the walls which I wanted so badly to do. Thanks to wall art stickers I could finally decorate the walls of my new house easily and beautifully and know how much it cost me? In short it was extremely less if you compare other methods of house decorations.

Do extensive research on vinyl wall art and wall art stickers

Vinyl wall art are quite reasonable and comes in various types and kinds from which you can choose the one you like the best, which you think will suit the décor of your house and will match your personality. Now you must be thinking how to find out more about this fantastic way of house decorating, aren't you? One of the best ways to find information about wall art stickers is by means of the online media which is so popular in the present age.

You can get to know so many facts about this technique of wall decoration online by clicking the mouse a few times. In a moment’s time you will find numerous website links present in front of your eyes giving you all the knowledge you need regarding the wall art stickers. What all information you need to know are in short – what are exactly vinyl wall art, are there any types of wall art – if there is then what are the types, price range of different types of wall art stickers, ways to put on wall art decals and dos and don'ts regarding putting up wall art in your house walls.

Concepts and ideas regarding putting Vinyl wall art and wall art stickers in your house

There are so much you can do with the vinyl wall art you have no idea. I was surprised after putting it on in my living and bedroom as radically it changed the look of both the rooms. My living room became more retro and bedroom became so very romantic after sticking the different type of wall art stickers which I choose to buy. I wanted to create a theme and I did it so easily with the wall art decals.

You can go with wall quotes and can put up inspirational or funny or bright and cheerful wall quotes and sayings in your walls. Right from numbers to letters, names, favorite sayings to the lyrics of your favorite song and more. If you want to take a further step and be extremely romantic and stick up wall art letters and write down the vows you both took on your wedding day – you can do it all with wall art stickers easily as it is just like sticking pictures in your scrapbook, just that in place of scrapbook you stick it on the walls of your house. You can also stick wall art decals of your favorite movie poster, favorite band and you can even customize your wall stickers making it anything you want to put on the walls on your place.

Steps to turn your kids room more fun and colorful with wall art stickers

If you are thinking of transforming the look of your child’s room then wall art stickers might be the best solution for you. There are so many kinds of wall stickers available with which you can change your kid’s room into a place which he will love completely. Each and every child likes colorful bright rooms; children hate dull, boring rooms. With the wall decals you can change their rooms into fairy tale where your little baby girl or boy will be the hero or the princess just like what they have read or seen in the cartoon channels and fairy tale books.

To change the kid’s room or rather I will use the term redecorating it you need to chalk down a budget. Yes it is true that vinyl wall art stickers do not cost much and that the price range is quite reasonable but if you want to create a scene, for example a jungle or a whole Disney princess story concept then you must keep a budget ready. Always stick to the budget and be in limit as buying the stickers randomly without having an idea or a concept can lead to buy purchases.

Buying a dream home is a very significant step for most people. You will need to be proactive to achieve your goal, but it is very possible.

Building a new home can be a surprisingly inexpensive option. The advantage of building a new home is that you get to choose the design and colours you like. To get a good idea of prices and floor plans click here and check out what’s available.

With some good financial planning, including a solid and well thought out savings plan, you can turn your dream home into a reality.

Create a Dream Board

The best way to stay motivated to save is to have your dream in front of you. Spend time looking at different houses and choose something that you really love. Print out pictures of your dream home or make a life-like sketch of it and place them on a board. This becomes your dream board. It should be placed in a prominent place where you will see it daily. Your dream board will help keep you motivated to save.

Spending: Do You Really Need It?

Every time you go to make a purchase outside of your absolute needs, take a moment to think: do I really need this? This question will help stop you from making spare of the moment purchases that may thwart your savings plan. Clever marketing is designed to entice us into impulse buying. By stopping and asking if you really need or want something, you will save money.

Do a Course on Money Management

Make a List of Your Spending

Make a note of everything you spend for a month. You will be amazed at what you spend money on. It’s often the little things that end up adding up to a lot of money, things like coffee and candy bars. These are not essential and you may decide to cut back on this spending once you see how much it is costing you.

Save First

Put a certain percentage of your pay in a savings account before you even see it. It may only be one or two per cent but it will add up and if you don’t see it, you won’t miss it.

Expanding Your Family? Start Preparing Your Home Now & Save Time

So, your family is expanding. Perhaps you are having a baby or have adult children who are moving back home or even elderly parents that need to move in. Things are about to change and it’s a good idea to prepare your home for the new arrival/s ahead of time. While you might need more space to house an expanded family, very often it’s not practical or economical to consider moving house but there are some steps that will help create more space and save time and stress later.

Where to Put Them?

The first decision you will need to make is where you will put your new arrival/s. If you have a spare room then obviously you can turn this into a nursery or a bedroom. This is the easiest option, but if you do not have a spare room you will need to think a little more laterally. While a baby can be put in your room or even in a small corner of another room, adult family will be harder to manage. You may need to consider converting your garage into a bedroom or splitting a larger room with the help of screens or curtains to create a private space.

Furniture

Your family will need, at the bare minimum, a bed and somewhere to keep their clothing. Your choice of design will depend on the amount of room you have. For ideas and also measurements and other specifications, check online at http://www.superamart.com.au/. A bit of research now will a save you lots of stress later.

It is helpful to provide somewhere for your new arrival/s to place their smaller bits and pieces. A dresser top, some shelving or a small table will suffice. The reason this is so important is that it will help keep some order in your home and make your new house member feel like they belong. Try and utilise something you already have to save money.

Linen

Providing the person with their own bed linen and towels will make them feel welcome and cared for. Supply a few nice fresh towels, a face washer, hand towel and for a nice touch, add some pretty soaps and personal care products. If you don’t have adequate linen you will need to purchase it. Again, it is better to do this ahead of time than be rushing around at the last minute. Your new arrival/s will also feel more welcomed if you are prepared for them.

Let them Personalise their Space

It is really important to allow your family member to personalise their space. Be a bit flexible here. Take down any existing paintings on the walls in their space so they are free to put up pictures to their own taste. Clear off your ornaments from surfaces in their space so they will have room to place their own precious bits and pieces. Giving someone space to put a little bit of themselves will make them feel very much at home and welcomed.

Keep Your Pets Warm This Cold Season

 photo bundleMillie.jpg
My pet Millie, all bundled up and enjoying the warmth of our home (feeling like a burrito dog!).

No one is invincible when it comes extreme weather conditions so don't think that your four-legged pals are immune to the harsh weather outside your home.

The weather these days are unrelenting and do not leave your pets outside in the cold. They can get frost bite too and can suffer from hypothermia.

Bundle up. Let them inside your warm home until the harsh cold season ends. Provide them a comfortable and warm space in your home because no one deserves to be out in the cold.

Wren Living - A Guide To Wardrobes

A good wardrobe is crucial to the aesthetic appeal, and functionality of our bedrooms. We've all experienced trying to cram an ever expanding collection of clothes into a tiny wardrobe that is fit to burst. Not only is this impractical, it can also leave our bedrooms looking messy and unkempt, destroying any style that the room may have had.

There are a variety of wardrobes available on the market at the minute, so this handy guide will help you choose the one that’s right for you.

Free standing

Available in a variety of styles, from rustic antique to sleek modern, there is a free standing wardrobe to suit every interior design plan. While style is clearly important, your bedroom wardrobes should be practical too. Select a wardrobe like this one from Wren Living that will have enough room to house all of your stuff.

Sliding door

With so much furniture to cram into a bedroom, space can often be an issue. Why not go for a space saving sliding door wardrobe in your bedroom? You won’t have to worry about not having room to open the doors, plus you can get mirrored doors which will really brighten up even the darkest of rooms.

Built in

Built in wardrobes are often thought of as a 1980’s interior design crime, but they can be incredibly stylish and great for awkwardly shaped spaces. Go for a timeless style that won’t date easily for usability that will last an age.

Choosing The Right Stair Railing For Your Home

People who are in the process of constructing their homes are faced with plenty of options to choose for the stair railings. The choice will really depend on the type of the stairs, the kind of materials used and taking consideration the style of the house being built, whether it is a Mediterranean, Country, Contemporary, Minimalist or Grand.

Wood and metal railing (Photo credit: decoist.com)

There are certain factors to take into consideration before plunging into buying mode. Here are some tips to help you choose the right railing for your home.

Budget

This plays a vital role in choosing the right railing for your stairs. Various materials like wood, steel or wrought iron can be bought at lesser costs. If you're thinking of a customized metal design then you will have to add the tube bending services to the price quote. Choose the material wisely depending on the design you want.

Safety

Safety is considered the main concern of all home builders and owners. Be sure to choose a material that is durable and will last a long time considering its safety aspects. It is not advisable to install glass railings for families with kids because of the breakable factor of this component. Metals and steels are the best choice for safer stair railings.

Design that matches your taste

When choosing the perfect stair railing for your home, consider the materials and design that will suit your taste and home style best. Your house's overall interior design may be contemporary so choosing the design and railing that will match it is ideal. It will be a bit off to install wooden balusters to a contemporary design. It just doesn't go well.

My Type Of Christmas Tree Decoration

We recently bought a slim, 6 ft. tall artificial Christmas tree. It's similar to Scotch Pine with bushy leaves so the whole trunk is covered. I love Christmas trees that are bulky and chunky looking because I want it to look so real and the leaves have to be sturdy enough to carry all those pretty ornaments I will hang.

Our humble 2012 Christmas tree

Our theme this year is blue and silver and few touches of red. We had the same theme 2 years ago so we just recycled whatever we have already. The only addition to the ornament is the NYC circular ornament we got last Oct. 2012 from New York. My hubby had a light bulb moment when he purchased the NYC ornament. We thought of buying similar ornaments from around the world. So the next time we travel to another country or even in US states, we will definitely get one of that.

Our tree is quite simple in terms of decoration. I don't feel like over doing the decor since we won't be spending the Christmas here in Dubai anyway. I told my husband that we'll go crazy like the one below when we have our dream house because I prefer having a very tall Christmas tree so there'll be enough room to adorn it.

More Storage

I have done my spring cleaning sometime back and can still find many knick and knacks that I should have disposed or sold before. I try my level best to be practical at times but when my sentimental-side kicks-in, I find it really difficult to part ways with my belongings especially when they are given or acquired on special times.

Our flat is just enough for a small family. However, if you come to my abode, you'll see that we are in need of storage cabinets. Either that or I really need to downsize. I already have a separate linen closet for my table cloths, curtains, towels, beddings, and winter outfits. I think I will need to revamp the closet to throw or donate the rarely used items since we can only use so much especially the thicker winter garments. They take up so much space and it does not get very cold here.

I think I have a big task at hand now. I need to sort our stuff and really cut back on the unnecessary purchases of bulky items that will not be used regularly. I already sent some old belongings and my daughter's toys back home. By the looks of it, another cleaning is in the offing.

Find the Best Comforters and Bedspreads for Canopy Beds

Canopies create an atmosphere of elegance and style, but bedding that clash with this type of bed makes a poor visual impression. If you have a particular color you like, such as pink or gold, then you might choose to have both your canopy and your bedding in that color. However, you do not need the same colors for both elements. The important point is that the colors work well together. You may also want to use similar decorative motifs on both your canopies, comforters and bedspreads.

When decorating with bedspreads and comforters, you need to determine what size of bedding you require, such as king-sized or  queen-sized comforters and bedspreads. Another decision you have to make is whether to use bedspreads or comforters as the bedding. The key difference between bedspread bedding and comforter bedding is that a bedspread reaches all the way down to the floor, while a comforter reaches about halfway down to the floor. A comforter set is going to leave a slightly more casual impression than a bedspread set. For some types of canopied beds, such as traditional curtained canopies, you might not want a casual look. If you find a comforter you like but still want the bedding to reach the floor, you can often purchase a matching comforter ruffle to enhance the visual appeal.
Well-chosen comforters and bedspreads are a key component of a canopied bed's elegant effect. Both elements must mesh to produce the sense of refinement and sophistication you feel upon seeing a properly-appointed canopy bed.

Cleaning Weekend

We had a revamp at home last night and I thought we sold most of the unwanted stuff piling in the closet. No wonder the house is crowded because we still have plenty of unused and unwanted items to sell in the flea market this winter. Just by locking at the amount of old clothes, bags, shoes, toys, books, cds and dvds and other what-have-yous, I can tell we'll make a lot of money out of them.

I really thought we downsized already. The last time we sold stuff in the flea market, 90% of the goods were sold and the remaining ones were donated to charity. And I really wonder why we still have so much? Are these stuff purchased recently and forgotten or some items given to us? I really can't tell because I don't recognize most of them except for the clothes, bags, shoes, toys and bags. There are some cds and dvds I have never bought and neither the knick-knacks in the shelves. I do recall buying stuff on our travels but so much? I don't think so. I am wiser now when it comes to buying stuff. It always have to be a want vs. a need decision.

So, our weekend is pretty tiring and hectic. I have some boxes to fill with things to sell. I have to clean them and list them in the inventory as I seriously need the house clutter free. Besides, the extra money out of the proceeds will be added to our savings bonds.

8 Natural Solutions for Removing Tough Stains

Stains are a part of life. Even the most meticulous households must deal with the occasional stain. If you are raising a young family, then stains are most likely a part of your daily routine. Many stains can be removed with specialized, stain-removing formulas, which often contain harsh chemicals that can make sensitive individuals sick. If you have young children or prefer a more natural approach to stain removal, there are a number of options.

Many common household ingredients are extremely effective at removing tough stains. You just have to know what elements to use on each specific type of stain. For best results, get to the stain as soon as possible. Avoid rubbing the stain, which will push it further into the surface it rests on. Always use cold water, as hot will set the stain.

The methods outlined here will usually work on those stains, but sometimes you need some heavier artillery. If these tricks don't work, it's time to bring in the professional carpet cleaning equipment.

Grass Stains
Try this sweet fix for grass stains. Brush any remaining debris from the fabric, then rub a bit of molasses into the stained area. Let the molasses sit on the stain for 8 to 10 hours, then wash normally.

Coffee Stains
Clean up those dark coffee stains with your morning breakfast. Soak up as much liquid as possible by blotting the coffee with a cloth. Then, beat an egg with cold water and spread over the stain. Rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary.

Food Stains on Plastic
There is a simple solution for those stubborn tomato sauce stains on your favorite Tupperware. Wash as usual, and then rub a bit of baking soda or lemon juice all over the stained area. Set the container in a sunny location, and the sun's rays will bleach away the stain. Rinse the container. If the stain is still visible, repeat by placing in the sun again.

Grease Stains
Oily stains can stay around a long time if not treated properly. Soak up the grease by sprinkling chalk dust or cornstarch on the stain. Then, soak the stain in a mixture of baking soda and water. Launder as usual. If that didn't work, try a little rubbing alcohol on the stain before washing.

Wine, Juice, or Berry Stains
Remember to blot as much of the liquid as possible before treating the stain. Then, try to lift the stain from the fibers of the material by soaking it in lemon juice or white vinegar. For red wine, soak in milk, white wine or club soda.

Gum Stains
While gum might seem like a messy stain, it's actually quite simple to remove. Just place the item in the freezer and allow the gum to freeze. If the item is too big for the freezer, place a few ice cubes on the gum. Remove the item from the freezer and scrape off the gum.

Candle Wax Stains
Place a paper bag or a towel over the wax and press it with a warm iron. The wax will be absorbed by the paper or towel. For any leftover residue, use a bit of alcohol.

Chocolate Stains
Remove chocolate by blotting or scraping as much of the chocolate as possible. Then, make a mixture of one tablespoon ammonia and a three-quarter cup of water. Spray mixture on the stain and blot. Repeat until stain is lifted.

When it comes to your health and house cleaning, the old ways are still the best ways. Rather than exposing your family to harsh chemicals, try these methods first. You should only resort to chemical cleaning after you've tried these safer methods.

House Insurance

A relative just recently completed the construction of her dream house. She has finalized the transfer of title and all except getting her house insured for any unforeseen events. She is scouting for home insurance quote which will suit her budget.

She knows some who are working in this line of business and wonders if their offer is comparable to the ones in the Internet. I told her to get all the details she need and then compare before she finalize on something.

Earn Extra from Home

My friend and I have been wracking our heads thinking of a good opportunity where we can earn extra income from home. We have a very nice office timing to allow us to spend time at home for a viable business to augment our income. This recession has really brought the best in us in terms of sticking to stringent budget, fewer money to spend on unnecessary things and wiser investments.

My handmade cards have given me extra income on the side but a steady flow of cash from another activity may just do the trick. Any suggestions?
