Review - Dezign with a Z Wall Decal: Eiffel Tower Paris

I have a big fascination with anything French and of course, I love Paris! It is one of my favorite places to visit. The moment we set foot in Paris, my family and I knew that it was the perfect place to be.

So, I didn't let the opportunity pass when I got presented this beautiful Eiffel Tower wall decal with the word Paris. It is the perfect decal for our entry hallway because we have a part of the hallway that has nothing on it, just a bare cream colored wall that can benefit with a little sprucing!

This pretty wall decal came from Dezign with a Z company who specializes in vinyl wall arts decals based on the creative designs of their young designers who are from Europe and the USA. It has offices in the US, France and Russia. Aside from the many beautiful and creative artworks of the young and talented designers of Dezign with a Z, they also accept your own artwork which they will convert into pretty wall decals for you to install.

My vinyl wall art decal is the lovely Eiffel Tower (22" x 22") with the word Paris. I got it from their catalogue (worth $38) and this is just one of the many, pretty designs they carry in the site.

What I like:

A lot! First of all, I love the design! I love how light it is and the texture is smooth like a matte paint on a wall only this vinyl wall art decal is more posh looking and really up with the times!

The freebies! Yes, aside from the main wall decal I got for free, Dezign with a Z even added 2 large butterflies I can install later on and the package comes with a squeegee applicator to help flatten out the vinyl decal and remove unwanted bubbles when you install it on your wall.

Easy to install. The package comes with an illustration of how to install the vinyl wall art which is easy to follow. However, this is a big wall decal so I had to ask my husband's help to set it up against the wall.

The price! It is pegged at $38 and I think that is reasonable considering the quality of the product and the design. I have seen other wall decal from other sites and they charge more than $38 for a smaller size and design.

The packaging is airtight so it won't get wet while in transit.

It was shipped free via FedEx by Dezign with a Z! Thank you for that!

The site offers shipping worldwide.

What I don't like:

Nothing! I love this vinyl wall art decal so much!

Suggested Retail Price: US$38 for this 22" x 22" wall decal

Packaging:

I received the product inside a thick cardboard canister. The vinyl wall art was also packed in an airtight plastic bag with the applicator, instruction and extra 2 butterflies.

Materials:

High quality vinyl and comes in various colors

My recommendation:

A big yes especially if you are considering to refurbish and redecorate at home or even in your office with a budget to follow. This is the fastest way to spice up that bare wall and add pizzazz to your home or office.

Beautiful Kitchen Sink

I have been looking around, snapping and collecting pictures of beautiful kitchens and the fixtures and appliances that will go with the plan. I saw this beautiful triple undermount sink and I knew that it would be the right kitchen sink for me.

I like the triple undermount sink because of its compartmentalized feature and the way I can organize my washing. I also don't like spills on the kitchen top so this kind of sink is the best for me. The price is a bit on the high end but given the clean cut and functionality, I think the amount of money paid for the sink is worth the investment.

Weather Changes Here

It was quite humid the other day and how I wished I have a home dehumidifier to balance the air flow at home.

I cannot believe how this can happen when it should be winter season here. I barely feel the winter at all. I'm still using the aircondition unit because I cannot stand the humidity. It is not so breezy and cold considering the time and season.

Today, it rained for a short period of time. It was enough to bring the humidity to an acceptable level. It was a bit cold in the afternoon when I left the office. I wonder how long this coolness will hold up.

The Beauty in Rustic Furniture

I remember scouting for a furniture when my husband and I first bought our house. It was around 1999 before he left for Dubai.

We must have visited one shop after the other in a place in Manila where furniture were the main highlight of the place. It is one stretch of furniture shops to choose from.

My taste then was still different. I preferred having a certain country and homey feel to my furniture. I vividly recall selecting a white wicker living room set which was around $200. Back then, that price would be so much but I feel in love with the rustic furniture that I didn't consider the price. I know it was not a very wise move, money-matter wise. However, both my husband and I loved the rustic piece. Even our respective families were gushing on how pretty and dainty the wicker living room set was.

I felt proud owning that wicker set. It has been with us for sometime and my daughter has sat on it's soft cushions while growing up.

The wicker set is now in my mom's house. It will still be my favorite furniture because of its simple beauty.

Beautiful Bed Linens

I love collecting bed linen sets. I like my bed with color coordination and modern patterns. I do not mind purchasing bed linens from lesser known designers as long as the colors and design match my tastes.

It will be a great pleasure, though, to receive bed linens as gifts especially the ones from matouk. The designs of matouk is subdued, simple and yet elegant which is almost classy without being to flamboyant. And I just want my linens to be like that.

So far, my friends have given me bed linens from the UK and US and I love them all. I try not to use them often so the colors do not fade and the linen's shape is still retained. I know I should enjoy my bed linens but I just want to make sure that I do not over use them to prolong their life.

Our Future Home

We have already bought our third property out of our hard-earned money here. I am very happy to say that even if our bank accounts are as slim as the slim-fit pants you can find nowadays, we have three properties to be proud of.

Plans for purchasing a fourth property is in the pipeline but this time it will just be a vacant lot where we will build our future home. It has been a dream of mine even when I was still young to build my home according to my own preference. I have collected so many clippings of beautiful homes, bedrooms with white wardrobe, patios and garden photos over the years and have kept them for reference. I am already in the process of gathering photos of furniture I want to have in our future house too.

I love everything cozy, light and white or creamy and earth tones. So, you can sense that the furniture will be of light color. I just like the feel of seeing a pristine atmosphere at home with natural light seeping and clean and crisp-looking furniture to go with the ambiance.

My daughter has been bugging me too about what she likes to have in her own bedroom. Since we already have furniture here in Dubai which we can take home once we are done with our stay here, I have decided we can have painted bedroom furniture for her. It will save us money. Also, the ones we have here in Dubai are expensive and durable. I will have to ship all of them because I know they will look good in our future home considering the theme I want to carry out - light and natural and a bit minimalist too.

I am not rushing on this plan right now because my husband and I have to discuss money matters as well. The recession is still on and we want to make sure that if we go through our plan to buy a residential lot and later on build a house on it, we are financially capable and ready to release money due to the demands of building a home.

It is not a sheer joke to plan for this. However, I do not want this to be just a dream. I may have to work  5 more years at tops to finance this goal. It is not a long shot but with our determination, dream and tight-budgeting skills, our dream home will be ours.

Friday Cleaning Blues

I woke up early today for some serious cleaning. I gave Millie a bath, scrubbed the toilet, mopped the floor, sweep the floor and collected the laundry.

I took the garbage out and realized how much we throw in a daily basis. How can one small household have so much trash?!? I wonder!

So, the house is spic and span again until the "pack" decides to turn it upside down in few days - oh no, I'll give it few minutes tops...

Maintenance Woes

Three years in this flat and so many fixtures to update! Our kitchen counter is slowly getting out of alignment with the wall. The cupboards' hinges are loose. The faucets are dripping. The wall paint chips and even the door chimes do not chime!

I just changed the dripping shower head two months ago and in the other bathroom too. I asked the maintenance personnel to fix the wiring of the other room because the chandelier would not switch on even if the electrical system was working.

So far, none has been done. I may end up calling an electrician to fix the wiring at my own expense. The maintenance is bad and I hope the rents go down further so we can move out next year to a new building with better facilities and maintenance service.

Updated Furniture

I took a quick look on our couch in the living room a while ago and thought to myself how plain and old-fashioned it was. I have been looking around home centre in the malls lately to check on any contemporary furniture. I am eager to spruce the house a bit to make it more cozy and updated. I have seen modular types of furniture good for a small space and I hope they go on sale!

Secured in my Home

Living in Dubai has its perks in terms of security and safety. Although we cannot dispute the fact that there are crimes anywhere. However, crime rate here is down to the minimum.

We live in a building flat and have a security guard round-the-clock. The home security systems here are okay because most buildings are equipped with auto-lock system in the main lobby door. Unless you are a resident of a certain building, you cannot enter right away without buzzing the owner of the flat or leaving your ID in the security guard.

Bath Time is Fun Time

I have always enjoyed a nice soak in the tub especially when I am all stressed out. I like lighting scented candles and filling the tub with few drops of scented oils to calm my nerves.

I never had bath tubs back in the Philippines so when I moved here in Dubai, I made it a point to have a place with a bath tub in my master bedroom. I am lucky enough to have my own bathroom with a tub here with great bathroom vanities! Yes!

My next project is to upgrade my tub to a jacuzzi whirlpool. I know it is a long shot because our landlord will never allow us. So, in my own little dreamland, I decided to have one when I have my own home. I am looking at whirlpool jacuzzi with great water and air circulation to make the massaging power more effective.

I have seen a lot of gorgeous jacuzzis both in magazines and web sites catering to this product. I am not keen on a very big jacuzzi but something that can be placed in the corner so I can maximize the space of my bathroom.

I can't wait to have a house of my own so I can fulfill all my dream projects. And having a spacious bathroom with whirlpool jacuzzi is one of them! Talking of dream home projects, I'll include my dream kitchen with modern and stylish kitchen sinks and kitchen faucets.
