Chemical Jacketed Reactor Can Be Used in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry

Each time chemical jacketed reactor is mentioned, I am sure that many people will have a question: what is it. In this article, we are going to talk about this term.

Chemical reactor is a device used in the process of chemical reaction. And chemical reactor with jacket has a lot of advantages in this process. The jacketed one, also known as glass lined reactor, is made by the specific electric furnace; this make it has advantages like smooth surface, heat resistant and easy to wash.

The jacket has several different types like a half-pipe jacket, a dimpled jacket and a full conventional jacket. The conventional jacket can be used to cover the full wall and base surface and is very simple to construct; the dimpled one has ability to allow construction from light gauge metals while maintaining strength; and the half-pipe jacket may be cheaper for a high pressure on the service side, more importantly, it has the advantages that more than one service can be supplied to different sections of the wall.

Nowadays, a number of manufactures can provide customers high quality product of jacketed reactor. In general, these rectors has following benefits, including: the cooling or heating solution in the interlayer can be completely removed after reaction, high borosilicate glass has good physical and chemical properties, can be used in wide temperature range from high temperature to low temperature, can work in constant pressure and vacuum, digital display of mixing speed, frequency conversion and constant speed mixing system and work steadily, and the wholes structure , is novelty, practical and beautiful.

On the other hand, a jacketed reactor is mainly consisted of following part, such as: double-glass reactor body, speed controller, reactor shelf, PTFE feeding, constant pressure dropping funnel, vacuum chock plug, vacuum exhaustion plug, vacuum gauge, stirring motor, mouth reactor cap, condensator, thermometer bushing, PTFE stirring bar, distillation flask, high temperature circulation pump, and so on.

However, some things you should be careful when you use this kind of reactor, such as: temperature has to be increased and decreased slowly to prevent shorting of nature lifespan of enamel damage because of its thermal of cold stress in the process of using.


Jacketed glass reactor is used to do a lot of process in labs and pilot plant; and the design of jacket make this reactor has heat exchange for better dissolving and crystallization.

In short, chemical reactor is used in the process extraction, mixing, dissolving and stirring; in addition to chemical industry, this device also can contribute to other field, such as pharmaceutical industry and metallurgy etc.

Christening and Baptism: What's the Difference?

People often confuse Christening with Baptism, even using the terms interchangeably even when they are very different. Different denominations use different processes and ceremonies so, if you’re attending one of them, or you want to participate in one, know the difference. 

Baptism

Baptism is the Christian rite that often uses water to signify one’s “adoption” into the Christian church. It’s a tradition with a rich history, and has often been called a sacrament and ordinance of Jesus Christ. 

While some people believe that the Catholic Church only recognizes certain forms of baptism, the official church position is that any baptism that uses the words “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” constitutes a valid baptism as long as water was used - either through immersion or pouring. 

Baptism is also the only sacrament that can be performed in an emergency. In fact, while it’s expected that a priest or deacon will perform this procedure, anyone can do it as long as the correct words are spoken and the proper matter is used. 

The practice is most commonly practiced by all Christian faiths, but not all faiths practice Christenings.

Christening

A Christening is when a child, usually a baby, is baptized. It’s a practice that’s common used by Roman Catholics, Greek, Russian, and Oriental Orthodoxy, the Armenian Apostolic Church, Assyrian Church, Lutheran Church, Anglican Communion Church, Presbyterians, Methodists, and the Church of the Nazarene. 

One of several christening gowns are usually worn by the baby, and the priest or deacon performing the ceremony will either quickly dunk the child’s head under water or will pour water over the child’s head. 

However, some Christians reject this practice for various reasons. For example, Baptists, Apostolic Christians, Old Time Missionary Baptists, the Amish, the Mennonites, the Seventh-Day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the Mormon Church all reject the practice. 

Some consider christening as a submission to God, while all Christians consider baptism a submission to God. Part of the reason some reject the christening ceremony is because it was introduced in the 14th century as a way to baptize and name a child. It’s from English culture and not necessarily specific to Christianity. 

Baptism, on the other hand, has its roots in pre-Christian times. It was the ritual use of water as a purification agent. Practices vary between churches, but they are all recognized as being valid. 

Another reason some faiths reject the practice is that one cannot submit to God as a baby while this is possible as an adult. Jesus did not practice christening, therefore (it is argued) one should not practice it in their own lives. 

Finally, there is the argument that the Bible does not teach christenings. This is enough for faiths, such as Baptists, as the book is the be all, end all, of the word of God. 

But, for many Christians, they believe that the ceremony itself is what is special, and so they practice what is customary for their church.

This is a very interesting infographic geared to the young adults in college. For sure, exercising will be the least priority when in college because of the numerous projects, presentations and other extra curricular activities a college student engages in. However, just because a college student is studying and very active in school, their fitness must suffer. Contrary to that, college students can squeeze in some fitness regimen in their already busy schedules by taking note of this infographic from TheBestColleges.org.

What is Creatinine?

I brought this topic up because my mother underwent a blood work and the result was not very favorable on her creatinine level. The doctor said that we need to cut her meat intake especially the red ones and focus on foods like vegetables, fresh fruits and water.

So, as soon as I came back from my vacation, I researched what creatinine was all about and other measures to keep it on a normal and acceptable level.

Creatinine is a chemical waste molecule from muscle metabolism. This is produced from creatine which is  imperative in energy production in muscles. Creatinine is transported to the bloodstream to the kidneys and the latter filters it out and release it as a by-product known as urine.

Too Much Information

Using Facebook and other social network sites is so enjoyable. We get carried away on the status bars and  games and comments. We even posts pictures and videos of special happenings in our lives.

I am guilty on some accounts but not to the extent of divulging so much information for the world to know. I am posting this to share important tips on what "not" to share on Facebook and other social media sites. Reasons out weigh the need to be buddies with the people in the social media sites. For one, your personal safety and protection should be your utmost concern. Second, too much info about yourself and your activities poses high chances of getting hacked or your identity be stolen. Also, many employers now seek social media sites to check on applicants so beware on posting angry status, dissing remarks on colleagues and bosses and uploading pictures and videos of  something you will not like others to see.

Here are information you should not divulge in public:

1. Birth date
2. Birth place
3. School/Universities
4. Location
5. Mobile contact details
6. Pictures and Videos (these you may want to keep to a minimum or something you will not be embarrassed to show the world)
7. Unnecessary comments and remarks (you be the judge...)

Set up your privacy settings according to your preference. I have set mine to just allow "friends" to view my profile and pictures. As of this writing, I have already edited my profile in Facebook to show only the general information. I have also removed "friends" who I really do not know nor have spoken or communicated too.

Well, these are just measures as precursor to safety and protection to take to avoid any hassles or worse, major problems in the future.

Did you know that the aural sense is the first to develop in the womb? I read somewhere that when you play music or listen to music while you are pregnant contributes to the intellectual development of the unborn.

Music is a tranquilizer to relieve ourselves from the noise around us. So it is very important to chose the kind of music you play in order to relax your body and mind. Classical and nature sound are normally good in setting our moods to a more laid-back and calm stage.

1. Have you ever been on TV?
One time while I was doing a "picket" with other concerned citizens back in the Philippines. My mom actually saw me and called me in my mobile phone instantly to tell me to get out of there because I was a government employee picketing against the government of the Philippines right in front of my office (and that was during my lunch time...hahaha!). The irony!

2. Have you ever sung in public?
Well, if you count singing in a karaoke bar as a public place then yes I have had the chance. AND I won't do it again. I was slightly tipsy so I had the guts to sing in public which when I am sober, I won't even try.

3. Have you ever dyed your hair blond?
Not in my wildest dream. I think I will look weird if I do. LOL!

4. Have you ever eaten frogs' legs?
No and will never.

5. Have you ever received a present that you really hated?
No, I always appreciate all the gifts I receive.

6. Have you ever walked into a lamp post?
It almost happened while I was vacationing in Paris with my family. I was too pre-occupied gawking and oogling at the scenery and the beautiful surroundings that I almost hit the lamp post. Good thing my daughter called out so I was back in my senses before I could actually have contact with the post. Sheesh...

7. Have you ever cooked a meal by yourself for more than 15 people?
Once. I never liked cooking but during my hubby's birthday, I surprised him by cooking "menudo" and "pancit canton" for our family and friends.

8. Have you ever fallen or stumbled in front of others?
Yes when I was in grade 4. I was lugging this very heavy bag with stroller and placed the stroller on the "stroller ramp" customized in our school's stairs. Well, we all know how the law of gravity works right? What comes up must come down...together with Ria! I was graciously helped by 1 cute sixth grader and was even kind enough to get my bag and stroller for me...Oh gosh... *blush*

9. Have you ever done volunteer work?
Yes, back in the Philippines during my university days.

SO, HERE ARE 10 STUFF ABOUT ME:

1. I love to travel. It's a great blessing to be able to work in one of the most prestigious airlines in the world. I get free and rebated tickets so that's the main reason I can afford to travel. That's the whole beauty of being an airline staff when you are a wanderlust like I am.

2. I don't know how to cook. This is more of a choice really. I know, I know, the conservatives will throw stones at me but like I said, it's more of a choice. I never had any inclination on cooking nor anything in the kitchen for that matter other than the food I'll eat. Hahahaha! I do cook once in a blue moon and most times, it comes out like a gourmet meal because I have to follow the recipe.

3. I ran away when I was 10 because I didn't want to go back to my school. One of my teachers embarrassed me horribly in front of the whole Grade 5 class. I forgot the nitty-gritty details but it had something to do with "mistakenly quoted" by a tattle tale. I was made to deliver an apology speech in all of the Grade 5 classes (I think there were 10 or 12 sections in our school) for something I didn't say. My mom's officemate found me in the old "Gotesco Caloocan" and they said I looked like a beggar with my dirty clothes and worn out slippers. Oh, the adventures I had! I wasn't gone for long as I really intend to come back at night time when everyone else was asleep but got found in the afternoon. Hehehe! And who said I AM BORING?????

4. Back in my academic days, they call me a geek sans the glasses. I don't know why because I suck in Math so how can I be a geek, right?

5. I have always wanted to be a cardiologist. I am being realistic and all, my health won't allow me to be a doctor because instead of curing the patients, I have to cure myself all the time =). I decided to change my aspiration and since I love to travel, I took up International Studies. I remember when I was 5 years old, I used to read anatomy books and my parents would encourage me to pursue Medicine but then, let's face it, I am more sick than my patients, if I ever become a doctor... LOL! I will (as in forever) hold a special place in my heart for that dream. It will just be a dream though.

6. I am freakishly organized. I love putting things in order and use color codes for some stuff like pink pail for my undergarments, and white pail for the socks. When I write notes, I use colored pens too, red when I stress a point, green for important stuff and blue or black for the common notes. Well, my closet is another story. I am sharing my closet with my princess so I am having a hard time keeping it in order. You know how kids just pull out stuff and don't fix. However, my clothes are arranged according to categories, all skirts are together, all suits together, trousers and pants combined, shirts and blouses are folded and arranged again in gradual changes of hue. So, all shades of blue shirts will be together and so on.

7. I am not a sporty kind of person. I have this terrible hands, legs, arms, feet coordination. I can't seem to master anything sporty other than running on the treadmill, if you can consider running as sports in my case.

8. I prefer being called by my nickname - Ria. My real name is ______ (secret) but I feel that it is too lady-like and hard to recall. In the office, I am well-known as "Ria" so when I am introduced by my bosses and colleagues to visitors, they have to stress that my real name is ________ and that Ria is my preferred name to be called. Talk about influence...heheehehee!

9. I don't know if this is a talent or what but I have this weird thing on remembering names, faces and details. I can recall a person's name and face even if I have met him/her once. In my line of job, I meet a lot of people and I am often surprised by how I can call out their names when I see them and have met them only once. I cannot say this is photographic memory because sometimes I cannot remember a task to do. My family and friends tell me that I should be an FBI agent or be in CIA because I'll make good use of this gift...yeah right!

10. Lastly, I still watch cartoons with my daughter. This is something I'll never outgrow.
