Yoga For Athletes

Seasoned athletes like runners face the risk of injury as they exert themselves to the maximum. Strenuous exercise creates an imbalance in the involved muscle groups. Yoga can help as it balances muscle and body activity. You become more conscious of your effort and movements, and try to avoid niggling injuries as much as possible. Regular yoga practice can also improve your endurance and stamina.

If you are injured, do not fret. Try to practice simple yoga poses to restore strength and flexibility to your weakened body. Yoga teaches us how to balance our mind, body, and spirit. We begin to develop inner balance which can guide us throughout our career and lifetime.

Yoga teaches us to become aware of our body’s strengths and limitations. We learn not to over-exert ourselves, thereby minimizing the risk of injury. Repetitive motions and vigorous exercise cause overused muscles to become inflexible and hard. This tension affects blood supply and reduces elasticity. As a result, an athlete is forced to strain harder, which creates more stress. Yoga helps here by elongating and relaxing these tight muscles. The psychological aspect of yoga is important too for athletes, as they need to focus intently on their game without being distracted by the crowd, weather conditions, etc.

You can select a suitable yoga style for yourself depending on your fitness goals. Professional athletes can try power yoga, which is a demanding style that lays emphasis on strength and stamina. The holistic approach of yoga can help athletes discover imbalances and weaknesses in their body, which they can strive to eliminate.

Aurorae Yoga Sling Backpack Bag Review

My package from Aurorae finally arrived last Thursday! I have waited for this sling backpack for almost a month. And it was worth the wait.

I have to use it for a week to test its durability. I always bring plenty of stuff and I want to make sure that it cn hold so much, not just yoga mat, spare towel, water jug and all. I am happy to say it passed the durability test.

It is comfy and has a cushion on the strap to make it easy on the shoulder blades. So if you are carrying something heavy, it helps lighten the feeling without causing stress on your shoulders and back.

The earphone jack slot is really handy too. No need to strap the poor phone to your arm or chucked in your pockets and no need for nosy wires tangling here and there. That one is a great addition to the bag.

The yoga bag holder is a nice feature of the sling bag. No need for slinging it around your shoulders with the bag. That means you do not have to carry two things when you can just carry one. Very neat!

And lastly, the sling backback is asking for things. It is spacious and the pockets can hold a lot of trinkets to keep your stuff in order and organized. You'll never run out of places to stuff your things in with this bag.

I do recommend this bag for yoga enthusiasts and even active people. It can withstand heavy load and maintain its form and still look good and comfortable to carry around. I will definitely use this for my yoga sessions and other activities outdoors and indoors.

Disclaimer: I received the bag courtesy of Auroraeyoga.com. I was not compensated for this review. This review is solely my opinion and feedback.

Rotund And Flabby

My conscious self tells me to really lose it - the weight and the belly flab! I feel the signs are all pointing to my expanding girth and my flabby tummy.

I realized today that my weight is becoming an issue and so is my waist line. We were in Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi a while ago. We took a seated ride in one of the attractions. Most rides all over the world require a mechanical seat restrainer or that long bar that automatically shuts down close to your waist and legs to secure you in your seat in the ride. Well, let's just say, I couldn't breath when it closed. I felt it was tight in my waist area but looking at my family, their secure bar seemed to be just fine and they could even move a little. Wow! That meant my belly fat is becoming a problem now.

I am taking little steps to get myself committed to what I can actually do. I have been checking sites for fitness and health tips. I also searched some sites for other equipment and accessories to have if I decide to incorporate yoga or Pilates in my daily routine. You can click here for yoga mats wholesale prices or other items you can add to help you in your weight loss goal programs.

Losing weight is not easy. However, I don't want to be bound to this unhealthy body and lifestyle. If you're like me, I am sure you know how it feels being teased and mocked for your weight. People think it's easy or we don't care. Little do they know how much we're crying inside, begging for help and acceptance. So, I want to break out of that negative cycle where everyone thinks all I do is eat and sleep. I know I am rotund and flabby but all I'm asking these people is not to shove it on my face!
